That that looks groovy @goldfinches. I would love star shaped ice cubes In my G and T.
A few finds for me:
Gap denim grandad collared shirt £4
BN still in box Cowshed body wash and body moisturiser set £3
BNWT New Look beige socks with bee motif 50p
Book journal £2. I’m an avid reader although I seldom buy CS books as a) I have loads already, b) I stock up at Barter Books in Alnwick whenever I’m there, c) I buy cheap kindle books, and d) I live very close to the library.
A stick on sunshade for the car £2.50. DGS is very sweet natured about most things but gets very cross if the sun is in his eyes.
BN still in packaging king size fitted sheet £4.A box of china and glass and a couple of bags donated to make space.6 -
Oh and an H and M grey sweatshirt with black stars on the front £25

Miró said:What will you do with the furs if I may ask? I have been trying to get rid of an inherited racoon coat for years. I don't just want to bin it. The poor animals are dead now so I would prefer it to be re-purposed somehow, ethically if that is possible, but I cannot find any takers.
The old sheepskin coats that are frankly well past wearing still have repurposing possibilities, eg for lining scabbards as they hold a layer of oil next the blade. Finding the people who will leap on it with happy cries may mean venturing out of your comfort zone, (it's OK, All the weapons are deactivated or impossible to source ammo for, or are props) but ye gods things do not get wasted!
Where possible, have the may-be-wearer don the coat/garment - just being wrapped in furs can do things to the moral compass that will charm the wallet open wider than you might expect.6 -
@DigForVictory Absolutely brilliant ideas!! That's reminded me...earlier this year I was in Whitby and a group of people came into the cafe I was in all dressed in 50's gear. They were, are they called, 'cosplayers'? Looked absolutely fab. Wish I'd had my wits about me....could have asked 'em about costume suppliers!5

You get cos players in all sorts of genres! I know the Live Action Role Players (LARPers) & the militaria enthusiasts best, but have a lively respect for the Rocky Horror enthusiasts too. Whitby is often deep in goths as well as tourists - best of all the charity shops have a Lot of books.
Says she with a Mary Plain volume from my infant days, bought with one child in a pushchair & another “on board”… (so, 2 decades ago!) Some was just holiday reading recycling, but some was good solid house clearances.
hoping your unloved fur can be rehomed more easily!4 -

So much to read, so little time.5 -
I want to go to Whitby too! I went there as a child. Someone I used to know online said she always went to the Gothic festival there. She was an artist and did a picture of my pets for me.:)5

I quite often see people here dressed in vintage clothing, although that term is now applied to anything pre-2000 by the looks of it! My neighbour wears her mothers clothes from the 30's/40's as they are well made and the fabric is excellent still. (She was a seamstress) Lots of people here still dress for the day, tweed suits (men and women) and large coats in the winter.
My mum used her fur stole for the cat when he was older which he loved. No idea where it is now though.4 -
My hopes of a chazzer trawl this afternoon was completely dashed
I thought I might be able to enjoy fellow MSErs' finds vicariously but there have been no posts. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -
I popped into our local hospice shop and found 5 DVDs for £1, as I was leaving a solid pine coffee table leapt into my hands and demanded that I brought it home with me. As it was only £5 I couldn’t refuse. 😉
Whilst loitering at the bus stop with it one of the ladies sat there said she’d spotted it in the shop too but couldn’t think how she’d get it home……✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
