@Pollycat I can confirm they are ‘squat proof’ they are also Pilates proof (my instructor is a sadist) as I often end up waving my legs in the air during classes or being used to demonstrate positions.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Share in my joy by all means.
Well, we went.
It was rather like a really chaotic jumble sale, and first impressions were not good I must admit. Just in disarray.
Only 2 floors, but the signage suggested upstairs had even more bargains, but I was rather pessimistic given downstairs.
However upstairs was all clothes £1, all on rails. In size order but the groups were a tad disorganised. But I managed to find 3 tops for me and one for DS (which might actually end up mine anyway!) Slimmer pickings for my size, however plenty in a medium and upward and I did spy quite a lot in the 22+ size range which I think is quite nice to see.
Perhaps the saving grace was the amount of books, 5 for £1! That seems to be their standard pricing too.
So I've come away with 4 tops and 15 books for £7 total spend.
FarPlace Animal Rescue in Darlington, on the High Northgate Road. Parking outside should anyone fancy a look.
I'd go back for the books alone I think.Wealth is not measured by currency11 -

Luckily my parents live near that town and we have to collect DS from theirs today, and rumour has it the CS is open 7 days a week so I'm going to try and sweet talk DH into taking me.
I'm on a mission to find some long sleeve tshirts or long sleeve thin knit jumpers for underneath my recently acquired dungarees.
I've been told that there's 3 floors and one is full of £1 items!
Wish me luck!!
In an attempt to get a bit more exercise in yesterday afternoon, I walked in the other direction and was lucky enough to find a pair of jeans, a thick cardigan, a thick scarf and a stainless steel kettle (to add to the 5 that I already have!) for a total of £4. Plus I picked up some books from the library, including this for 25p which made me think about JackieO (@London_1 ):6 -

I might see if I can find an email address but my understanding is that everything left at security for whatever reason (knives, guns, alcohol, scarves) is destroyed so there's no incentive for staff to "ban" anything they might like the look of. I wouldn't mind if someone did pocket it. I must admit it was undecided about taking it in the first place and was simply erring on the side of greed by doing so. I've got some others which are lovely including a real beauty that has a Haida (pacific coast) Indian pattern on it. Just had a look at MAN airport website which says you can register items lost in the terminal and they'll try to reunite you with it if there's a match on the database so might be worth trying at your airport of departure.
For example, Toronto Pearson:

Of course, someone coming through security after you may have picked it up and decided to keep it.5 -
@Pollycat
logged my loss on their website giving mom's address in case they are reluctant to send it to me here in the UK. we shall see... But thanks again for the suggestion.

@CAFCGirl and @yorkie-cook there are a few Far Place shops near me on Tyneside and I have to say they are all a bit chaotic but quite cheap.
Todays finds:
A Next t shirt with a star made of sequins £4.
A Top Shop navy sailor-y jumper. Cotton mix with elbow length sleeves £3
A lovely raspberry pink scarf which I think is actually a Turkish towel but it looks lovely with my raspberry pink biker jacket (sadly not real leather) £1.
I also bought a Phase Eight white dress with floaty silk panels which looked lovely in the shop but was both hideous and ridiculous when I put it on at home so it will have to go back.
