My newly-laundered raspberry anorak:
Its massive, which means I can layer up under itNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.7 -

I also bought a Phase Eight white dress with floaty silk panels which looked lovely in the shop but was both hideous and ridiculous when I put it on at home so it will have to go back.5 -
I've finally finished reading this thread, it's been a good read!
Naturally I've found this when I'm determined to scale back on my charity shopping  but if I find anything marvelous I'll take a pic and share
The CS's round me have got very dear and I refuse to pay their prices, even if something is bladdy lovely and fits beautifully. For example - in my local BHF a few weeks ago I tried on a gorgeous cashmere jumper. Cream but with thick stripes of pastel blues + purpley pinks. It felt just perfect on, price was £45, a bit steep but worth it for good cashmere. Took it to the till and the guy said "that'll be £145 please". It was only M+S! I tried on a lovely pair of jeans that were just the right colour (I'm picky about the right shade of jeans - dark dark blue, but not purpley). They were only from Primark and were £15.
Books round here now are regularly £2 or £3 each. I can't bring myself to pay that when I've been buying 5-£1 for yonks. Scarves and gloves etc are around £5 each, matched sets can be £12-£15 easy. Even when they're some sort of poly/nylon nonsense
Serves me right for moving to a nicer town I guess ha haa!I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.8 -
Had a right old splurge today! Found a BNWT Reiss jacket in a champagne colour. Now I love Reiss tailoring, it fits me well, ( height/body shape/sleeve length etc), and I was looking for a jacket in this colour during the summer but the price of £49.99 in the St Gemma’s Hospice shop made me hesitate…..but not for long! (Original price was £195 😳). Then, heart still racing I toddled into the Sue Ryder Hospice shop where a pair of Ted Baker black trousers jumped out at me, priced at £10 but gorgeous fabric, beautifully made and appear unworn so again I splurged. I'm telling myself that both items fit into my ethos of now only buying quality rather than quantity. (Ha, see how long that lasts!!). Anyhoo, off to lie down in a dark room now til my blood pressure and heart rate return to normal!!

@Rosa_Damascena - lovely anorak and I absolutely think you're right to allow space for layering because the weather does vary so in this country.
@YoungBlueEyes - where have you moved to, those prices sound astronomically high. Is there a bus service to somewhere more reasonable?
@Miró - those are two lovely finds and I'm sure they'll look good on you.
@Brie - a belated welcome back to the UK which I meant to say a few days ago and foolishly forgot. You came instantly to mind this morning when I spotted the little book in this photo on the shelf at my favourite BHF shop.
The cover is a lovely silky fabric and if you'd like a closer look at the book its here. I had a brief daydream about posting it to you as a Christmas present.
As you can see I also snapped up the River Cottage Bread book as well as the Anna Jones one. Then I popped round to the clothes rails and found these nice walking trousers and the lovely soft M*rks black cords which were only £3 so I did well today. I chose both pairs of trousers to be on the roomy side so that I can wear my thermals underneath comfortably."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I'd never heard of the label before so thankyou for enlightening my ignorance. I'm off to have a nosey at their range.
And, I'm horrified at the prices as well as resolving to keep an eye out for more of this brand."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

My nearest town is Beverley, that Marks’ jumper is/was in BHF. The books are dear in most shops here tho. We’re clearly all big readers 😊
Might go see if the jumper is still there tomorrow, I’ll try to resist buying more books tho!I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.5
