  • I'm still gagging for a copy of Devil's Dictionary tho. Google gave me a site called fulltextarchive.com which it appears on, so I'm 'reading' it but I still want my own one!
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.

No matter pollycat :)  I'm a bit lazy when it comes to things like that. I think Ooh that sounds lovely, I'll deffo do/make that, and then I don't. I really do always intend to tho!

I agree catsacor. I've been shopping in charity shops for years and the prices now are almost unbelievable. But £145 for something that probably never cost anything like that when it was new? They're cashing in on people's fears and the COLC. "I'm in a charity shop so this must be cheap and I love Mark's stuff so I'll buy it."

What I should do is vote with my feet and boycott that shop, but they do have the loveliest stuff..... *sigh*
I think the sorbet recipe sounds great but am wondering about chucking out the berries after they've been vinegarred.  The cheapo me wants to repurpose them for.....mixed with honey and added to yoghurt?  Made into a sour jelly to have with meat? Or something???

Yup - prices can get stupid depending on where the shop is sometimes and the perceived market.  But on the other hand I'll happily round up a price if it's something I really want - you know - 3 cds for £2 but you only find 2 you like so that's fine.

    Wow...£145 for an M & S cashmere jumper....crazy!!!!

I'm disillusioned with M&S altogether.  The black 99p skirt had a niggly fault in the sewing up.  It has four unpressed pleats, 2 at the back 2 at the front and sewn down for an inch or so into the waistband.  One of the pleats was on the wonk and it stopped the skirt falling properly.  It bothered me so I unpicked it and rejigged it so it hung properly, (wot a faff).  Anyhoo it made me have a good look at how it was made and it was dreadful...loads of looped threads, stray ends, wonky seams etc.  Even as an amateur sewer I would have been  ashamed to produce work like that.  I reckon it must have been a 'return'.  Not got a clue how to 'style' it apart from black opaque tights & flat ballerina stylee shoes or ankle boots.  Feel it mebbe needs something fitted into the waist on top to negate the possible 'sack of spuds' look?
