Nice buys there @Pollycat!
My only buying quality not quantity didn't last long. My downfall was thanks to the St Gemma's Hospice 99p shop in Otley where this BNWT's Autograph skirt ambushed me. It's heavy black cotton with white geometric embroidery. It's knee length which I'm not too sure about, prefer a midi length really but 99p for a skirt originally priced at &35 I thought it worth a wobble.

I'm gonna have to leave this thread I think, I just want all yous' stuff!
I went into BHF yesterday and got some pics of the new "designer cashmere" rail. That jumper has been 'reduced' but still there. There's a few of them now, different sizes. Also some very nice coats but they didn't fit me soNot that I'm short of coats tbh, but I'm trying to do the one-in-one-out thing, and the quality over quantity thing. Well I'm trying not to buy any thing unless truly needed, but sometimes stuff just sticks to my hands when I walk past it so what can you do?
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.9 -
florianatwobob said:@Potternerd any recommendations/hidden gems in Newcastle? I’m thinking about heading up in November for a few days.
you could also use the same metro ticket to go to Byker as there are about 6 CS on Shields Rd. It’s a much rougher area with lower prices.
you could also get an all zones day saver and go to Tynemouth, Cullercoats snd/or Whitley Bay and enjoy our lovely beaches followed by a stint in Whitley Bay’s CS on Whitley Rd and Park View.
There are also 6 CS on Gosforth High Street including a St Oswalds bookshop which is very reasonable.10 -
So here’s some pics. All on the cashmere rail. The jumpers and a cardi, both lovely but I resisted. 2 beautiful coats, I wanted the not Jaeger one but it didn’t fit sadly. And a skirt which I wasn’t going to buy, but got half down the street then went back and bought it 😀
Sorry they’re all sideways, I don’t know how to turn them round.

It's a lovely skirt (although I'd look like a sack of tatties tied in't'middle).
Let us know how you're going to style it.4 -
I also got a couple of books (pics taken yesterday when the sun was out!). Jamie was £5, the red one was £10 (£10!!), and the laying down one was also £5 but I put it back and got this copy from the library when I got home ha haa!I had to get the Grandma’s Kitchen one because as I leafed through the pages guess what the first page I landed on was about…? It was an omen.I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.8

Naturally I've found this when I'm determined to scale back on my charity shopping  but if I find anything marvelous I'll take a pic and share
The CS's round me have got very dear and I refuse to pay their prices, even if something is bladdy lovely and fits beautifully. For example - in my local BHF a few weeks ago I tried on a gorgeous cashmere jumper. Cream but with thick stripes of pastel blues + purpley pinks. It felt just perfect on, price was £45, a bit steep but worth it for good cashmere. Took it to the till and the guy said "that'll be £145 please". It was only M+S! I tried on a lovely pair of jeans that were just the right colour (I'm picky about the right shade of jeans - dark dark blue, but not purpley). They were only from Primark and were £15.
Books round here now are regularly £2 or £3 each. I can't bring myself to pay that when I've been buying 5-£1 for yonks. Scarves and gloves etc are around £5 each, matched sets can be £12-£15 easy. Even when they're some sort of poly/nylon nonsense
Serves me right for moving to a nicer town I guess ha haa!
Methinks someone marked that jumper up wrongly then, that's an unrealistic price for the garment. if priced correctly that's just greedy company - i loathe being ripped off.
