A white thin puffer jacket £3.59. It’s only Primark but I have had a red one for a while which is really useful though not very waterproof and is good to layer under a red Gap gilet (both red coats previous CS purchases. So I think I’ll probably resonate the red jacket and keep the gilet.5

Wednesday2000 said:I had to go out to the GP and the pharmacy so I went to The Cornerstone shop. I only had just over a fiver in my purse so that is all I wanted to spend. I found another pair of slipper boots, M&S brand and a Tie Rack black scarf. All for £5.
The staff in there are really nice. I was chatting to them about buying warm clothes for winter. Then I asked them if they knew a pharmacy that did blood pressure checks and the lady called a local pharmacy to ask them for me.:)
I had some chazzer success today: 3 good books for £1 in chazzer #1, a thick waterproof Snowdonia brand anorak for £2 in chazzer #2, a gold ornament for my living room from chazzer #3 (I'd had my eye on it for a while whilst it was at a higher price but wasn't prepared to part with more than the £2 I actually spent), and from chazzer #4 a BN book for 50p and mobile phone case for just 95p! Was particularly pleased with the latter as I spent £25 on a BN case when I bought my phone last winter, and it was scuffed within 3 months. Its condition has gradually deteriorated since and I was not happy about having to spend another £25 on a replacement. Maybe not the most stylish in design, this one is similar to one I bought for my work mobile phone about a month ago for 30p which does the job. My total haul was £6.95
The anorak looks a bit like this one (which seems to retail at £90 - faint!) but mine is in a lovely deep raspberry colour:
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.10 -
@Rosa_Damascena - your anorak sounds lovely.
I haven't had any success this week, the shelves were bare of interesting kitchenalia when I dropped in to my favourite BHF shop. I didn't make it as far as Oxfam or Age UK this afternoon as it came on to rain rather suddenly so I ducked into the glasshouses at the Botanic Garden where I bumped into a friend and we were so busy chatting I forgot to go shopping! I'll try again next week.6 -
I found two DVDs I wanted at a total of £1.99 this week. Sue Ryder (a sale of five for £1, but there was only one I wanted) and Cancer Research, which also had a hardback of a book I like but I left it as I have it on Kindle. It's a 'good' copy, so I thought it might be a Christmas present for someone. If it's still there when I go back, though, it might come home with me.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I spent my day off on Friday getting soaked - the heavens seemed to open every time I was outside between shops! There was very little to be had in the way of bargains, but then in almost the very last place I visited I spotted a HUGE cardboard box on the floor in the children’s toys section of the armed forces chazzer, marked as ‘not checked’ and ‘£5’.I snapped it up for my five year old grandson, whose face when he saw it after school that day was a picture of pure wide-eyed joy - he’s obsessed with Hot Wheels, and the box contained three complete stunt track sets which individually sell second hand at over £50 on eBay. I am now his favourite Grandma, obv 😂11

WelL done on your lockets @Pollycat, I have a few pairs and they are excellent. You don’t feel nervous that you’re flashing your knickers when you bend over!
Popped into a couple of shops yesterday. Added yet more books to the TBR pile 😵💫 from one shop. In another I found a 2ft pre-lit Xmas tree in a woven basket pot and wooden garland. The garland will be perfect, once dismantled, to decorate the little tree. All for a bargain £4. We’ve been looking for Christmas bits to decorate the hall this year and this will be perfect. It was a bit of a Christmas frenzy in that shop and they’ve barely got going with any seasonal stock.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I've been told tales of a very large and very well priced CS in a town a little way over.
Luckily my parents live near that town and we have to collect DS from theirs today, and rumour has it the CS is open 7 days a week so I'm going to try and sweet talk DH into taking me.
I'm on a mission to find some long sleeve tshirts or long sleeve thin knit jumpers for underneath my recently acquired dungarees.
I've been told that there's 3 floors and one is full of £1 items!
Wish me luck!!Wealth is not measured by currency10 -

In an attempt to get a bit more exercise in yesterday afternoon, I walked in the other direction and was lucky enough to find a pair of jeans, a thick cardigan, a thick scarf and a stainless steel kettle (to add to the 5 that I already have!) for a total of £4. Plus I picked up some books from the library, including this for 25p which made me think about JackieO (@London_1 ):
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Sorry for the absence - I've been in Canada decluttering my mom's house following her move to a retirement flat. When I left Bro2 there alone the entire garage was full of bags and boxes to go to the local "goodwill" shop. And I had already taken a couple of car loads as had also one of mom's carers who works for the Salvation Army.
So I wasn't buying anything from the chazzers there but did manage to acquire a few of my mom's silk scarves that she no longer uses. Unfortunately I managed to lose one of them as I was wearing it when I went to the airport to fly back to the UK. Security required the full pat down as my metal knee and various buttons on my jeans set off all their alarms and part of the procedure was to take of my scarf. I was reassembling myself with my bags etc and was distracted as the woman behind me was coming through with her cat! Yes a beauty of a Russian blue that had to be carried through the scanners and then was refusing to get back into it's basket. So sorry mom but that white silk with splotches of violet and black has been lost forever.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Brie - is it worth asking if anyone handed it in?
If not, don't look at it as 'lost', just passed on to someone who will also love it. 😃8
