Congrats @Wentthedaywell? - how does it feel now you are working your notice?Wentthedaywell? said:Saved £1500 in February, but my savings are still quite a bit down from the start of the year due to shares' drop.
I've given my notice in! Countdown to retirement begins!
You are 15 months ahead of me, I've told my boss I'm probably finishing July next year. And hopefully reducing to 3 days pw from this August, if they'll let me.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.2 -

Thanks, Becky, Geoffers and Gem-gem.
I've been on the countdown for so long, with the added weirdness of lockdown and WFH, and all of a sudden it's almost here! I feel I'm definitely getting out at the right time before big changes...
Geoffers, I certainly recommend dropping down to part-time to make the gradual adjustment and to reassure yourself (though with your canny spreadsheet expertise I'm sure you don't need it
) that you can live on your reduced income. 15 months will fly by! Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

Sorry for the delay in updating. I hope I've got everyone added and the spreadsheet is now up to date.Long COVID, plus work and family juggling means that I am behind in everything. Appreciate @s@Suffolk_lass giving me a nudge

I have already dropped down to three days a week and living on what my initial pension would be. Day to day living as frugal as possible but still have the odd little luxury eg spa, theatre trips and then saving the rest. (Still not travelling). Fingers crossed, as long as inflation doesn't go sky high - I will retire in July 2024.Wentthedaywell? said:Thanks, Becky, Geoffers and Gem-gem.

Last year, we were going to have a new kitchen, this is now happening this summer. kitchen fitter coming in two weeks to measure up. So savings this year will be much less than initially predicted. Will make changes once we know the costs.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Ooh thank you for doing the update! I've never been the greenest person on a challenge before (thanks to a tax rebate in January) - it won't last though!slowlyfading said:Sorry for the delay in updating.
