They can't provide it to me. It just doesn't work and the cards don't get sent.

I think someone, somewhere, isnt being wholely truthful. Why would they not be able to provide it to you yet every other First Direct customer seemingly has it?
Why are you still with them if thats the case? Move banks, get yourself a nice switching bonus whilst you are at it, and make your life easier.2 -

I cannot change from FD as Mrs G-C likes them.
They tell me they have online banking.
They say I need a card.
They say they send a card.
No card ever arrives.
Without a card I can't use online banking.
I complain and achieve nothing other than wasting my time.
I receive statements and cheque books to my address, so that is not the problem.
For everything else, I use cheques or FD telephone banking and it is quite easy.
Not so with the paying the Barclaycard.0 -
Grow some balls then and tell your wife that the current account you have isnt fit for purpose, and move it! How can you "like" a bank if they are (according to you) not allowing you to access an internet banking service?
You are needlessly making life more difficult for yourself.
If using FD telephone banking is "quite easy", where is the issue here then? Werent you moaning an hour or so ago you had been on hold to them for 45 minutes?4 -
Yeah, for some reason paying the Barclaycard over the phone was a 45-minute process.
No idea why.0 -
OK so it takes 45 minutes to do a simple transaction on the phone, and by your account they have failed to send you a card (what type of card?) multiple times which means you cant access internet banking.
So why exactly does your wife like them?3 -
I'm not sure what the card is as never had one.
My wife likes them because we are with them and they offered the telephone banking when we joined0
