Zog has gone 😢

I've had enough of EDF. I called Eon Next a few days ago to transfer my gas supply, managed to get the Next Online V11 1 year fix before it was pulled.

EDF generated a bill for the 15th - 24th December with the incorrect rates. The bill was for £19.20 and they raised another direct debit in addition to the normal DD that's in place. Spoke to CS, they said that shouldn't have happened, cancelled the bill and DD and generated a new one with the correct rates. A few minutes after the call another additional DD was setup again for the revised amount, useless.

They also installed a gas smart meter but can't take readings from it or get the IHD to work, every time I speak to them they change the time scale, was a few days, then 10 days, then 14 days now another 31 working days. I can see via the bright app the Gas Proxy isn't commissioned, the smart meter team didn't know what a gas proxy was.

I don't trust them, happy to go to EON. EON took over my Symbio supply, all went smoothly and they got the smart meter setup quickly too.

Hopefully EDF's final bill will include my ZOG credit...

I doubt it will. I've only just received my final EDF bill having switched to Octopus at the beginning of January. There was no Zog credit included.

I'm just being optimistic The switch should happen the 18th March, the final bill will about another 6 weeks...we'll see.

Did you get billed correctly for the initial period where you were put on the pay cash rates rather than the DD rates? I have just contacted EDF to get a credit for the overcharge with apparent success (but only via a complaint as the chat agent was useless and had no clue what I was asking - first they mentioned my Zog credit, then asked what DD amount I wanted to pay, then said the difference in rates was due to the SVR being variable. I kid you not!!!! I think they must have droid chat agents or something, meant to be a real human but didn't seem like it). But I got a £15 compensation credit for the poor service.

For me, I used my opening reading on the 15th Dec as my closing reading for the 4th Dec with Zog, so it's just the standing charge I will owe them. Although, judging how everything else has gone, this may cause a problem as they might decide I haven't used anything in the period from 5th to 15th Dec and this may be a red flag for them. They never made it clear which reading they wanted from which date as they treated it as a standard switch IMO.....but damn, I could have got some free gas.

I have left my fixed DD for now but will assess at the end of March as I will have paid another DD and maybe, just maye have gotten the Zog credit. I don't want to continue paying fixed DD going into spring with less usage building up credit but as I am currently in debit I'll wait a bit more before changing to full amout monthly DD.

Im still waiting for the refund of the cheque to DD rebate but i dont expect that to appear to the ZOG credit appears.

 Im not fussed at all because the missing period between EDF start date and ZOG end date will eat up those credits. If they dont charge for the missing period I will count it as a bonus.

Getting het up over these things i find is pretty pointless these days though i acknowledge all peoples circumstances are different and means of dealing with it can upset some people especially when you've been used to low rates aswell.

No first bill for me either although DD is being taken.
I've just checked my tariff rate as well and it is showing as 7.343p per kWh which is what the tariff should be from April.
Does anyone else have the same issue?

Lots of people. They are just showing ther April rate 30 days in advance, as per regulations, but ineptly, as per normal levels of EDF incompetence.

I’ve been sat on hold via phone with EDF having given up trying to generate a first bill via chat.

I moved to ‘whole monthly bill DD’ in mid February and asked for a first bill 3 times via chat. The person I just spoke to said they don’t usually generate bills outside a usual cycle but has done so after a little pressure.

i can see the amount, etc in my online EDF account, but need to have a look at the detail next.

Just tried to log in to the Zog beta site ,to make sure that nothing had changed with final statement but it appears to have vanished ; then tried original Zog site but that isn't there anymore - so anyone who gets told by EDF that they haven't received final credit balance values .............

I wish EDF would vanish.  After they've repaid my credit from Zog, of course...

Let's hope EDF (or any of the big 6) don't vanish with peoples credit balances or our standing charges will hit the moon. Starting to think there should be gov action on credit balances accumulating with these energy firms.
