Anybody had any adjustment to their account yet to credit back the difference between the non DD tariff charged initially and the DD tariff that should have been charged from supply date if a DD was set up by 31 Jan?  I'm guessing not and we will have to wait for our next bills before we see whether they do it or not.  Supposedly my next bill is due on 16th so not long to wait if that is the case,
I have just had a Final Bill and it was split between the two tariff rates. I have rejected it and I have told EDF that it still has 4 weeks and 2 days to produce an accurate bill. CS suggested that the computer knows best and they couldn’t understand why I was making a fuss about £1.68!
  • I have received my final bill from EDF for £27.37 for period 15 Dec to 05 Jan.  Opening and closing read were 2428 and 2471.  Closing read tallies with my opening read from Eon Next.  My closing read from Zog was 2402 with an end date of 4/12/21.

I also had a credit with Zog of £38.79.

Is this my final bill, or will I get an amended bill for 5 Dec - 14 Dec?

I contacted them via webchat on the 3rd Feb as I was yet to receive a bill. I also wanted to confirm that they were getting readings from my new smart meter and that they all my manual readings correct from last year as well. I'm on a fixed monthly payment rather than whole bill direct debit.

A bill was generated and I was able to view the following day. All the meter readings were fine and reflected the days I had entered them for including a sensible reading taken from my smart meter. However on checking it I had 3 questions so I initiated another webchat.

    1) Why was the bill from the 15th December when EDF took over the account on the 4th DEcember?
    2) Why had I been billed at the standard rate until the 23rd December despite the fact that I had a direct debit with ZOG and I was not given the opportunity to set up a new direct debit until the 23rd December?
    3) Where was the credit from ZOG as of the 4th December?

For the first I received the following reply
I understand that you are referring to the SOLR process. But since the supply change was
done under the SOLR process, the new supplier is unable to start the account on the exact date when the
old one goes to ceased trading. So between 04.12.2021 to 15.12.2021, the Zog administrators will bill you
based on the openning reading you had with EDF Energy. (Strangely Shell were able to do this with my SOLR from Pure Planet.)

For the second I calculated that I was owed £1.19 in overpayments. After her talking to her supervisor I was offered a £2 credit which I accepted and this has been added to my account.

For the missing credit I asked
I assume that the outstanding credit I had with Zog on the 4th December will be reflected in the bill
for the missing 10 days. Is that correct?

    The reply was
Yes, any balance that you had with ZOG will reflect once they have shared the balance with
    EDF energy.

I've now switched my gas back to Octopus on their Flexible Octopus (SVT) tariff. They've put me not on their current one but the cheaper one prior to the current, not that I'm complaining.

EDF sent me a ridiculous final bill, far too high, and based on readings which are nothing like the ones I submitted to them (even thought those readings appeared in my EDF account). I asked why there was even a final bill when they hadn't yet received the opening reading from Octopus but they said that they were entitled to do this and that I must pay it. They also wanted photos of my gas meter with the reading showing on 3 separate days (and they then lost two of them).

I'm now waiting for them to sort everything out and send me a cheque for the credit due (both from Zog and their gross overestimate of the final bill). Glad to see the back of them, to be honest.

My electricity is with them and so was my gas until I switched that to Zog. They've basically put me back on the gas tariff that I was on before I switched it to Zog.
  • EDF has updated their "joining us from ZOG Energy" page.

Latest updates for customers joining us from Zog Energy

    Update 11 February 2022

    Great news!
All customers should have now received their Zog final bill, which covers up to the SoLR date of 4 December 2021. EDF has now started work to honour any credit balances aligned to your final Zog bill.

All credit balances are protected, and we'll honour these, so please don't worry if you've not received yours yet. We're working through these as quickly as possible. This will take some time - there is nothing you need to do.

See below for how you'll receive your credit:

    • Customers who've stayed with us: if you're owed monies on your Zog final bill, we'll ensure this credit is applied to your new EDF account

    • Any customers who left Zog and signed up to another energy supplier should also have received a final bill from Zog. If your final Zog bill is in credit, these monies will be sent to you from EDF as a cheque refund.

    What else should I know?

    • Please contact Zog in Administration on 01473 597964 to pay any monies owed against your final Zog bill.

    • Zog continues to support customers regarding any queries on their final bills.

    • We'll ensure that you're billed from 4 December 2021 onwards and will apply this to your EDF account if you haven't left us. If you have left us, we'll contact you.

    • Direct Debits: if you set up your Direct Debit with us by 31 January 2022 as per our communications, then we'll calculate the appropriate monies and add this credit to your account

Check back here for further updates on what's happening.

Yes, EDF is making very heavy weather of this SoLR process. I had an email last night - timed at 18.01 -to inform me that EDF does not have any final bills from Zog Energy - yet its website indicates otherwise.  I suspect that this is an internal communications issue.

For those who decide to remain with EDF, I would keep a careful eye on your estimated annual consumption. When I set up my DD Mandate, I provided EDF with an estimated annual consumption figure of 7071kWh/year based on two smart meter readings a year apart. The latest iteration of my Final Bill shows an EAC figure of 11400kWh/year. My present smart gas meter was installed just over 14 months ago and my the total consumption recorded by the meter to date is still well short of 10000kWh. Again looking back 12 months, my actual consumption was just 7010kWh.

I suggested to EDF that, as it is a Registered DCC User, my figures could be checked by a meter data pull. The response was that EDF was not receiving gas smart meter data. Having switched back to Octopus, it would seem that my gas meter is alive and well! I knew this already as other third parties have been happily recording my 30 minute usage data.

I'll be damned if they are going to invoice me from the 4th, as Zog billed me up to and including the 4th.  Zog had around 10000 customers, and if all standing charges were the same as mine, 18.9p - that is around a £2,000 profit for overcharging.
@PennineAcute YMMV of course, but I think you'll find that it'll be correct if EDF apply the standing charge for 4 December, you won't be double charged.
In my case Zog didn't count the first day on supply, so it all comes out in the wash.
Effectively the 4 December reference only relates to the date of the handover reading.
