Apologies if this has been asked before, but has EDF or Ofgem ever stated that its Zog SoLR tariff rates will continue unchanged until close of play on 3 June 2022?  ISTR that Ofgem regulations require that the SoLR tariffs should last for six months, but I can't find anything about this in the case of Zog → EDF.  If this is the case, it's well hidden !
If it's true that the old capped rates will last until June, I doubt that EDF will give it much publicity, they'll no doubt prefer that people switch to a much more expensive fixed tariff shortly before the new cap starts on 1 April 2022.
A similar situation has been discussed at length on the Neon Reef to BG thread - the original communications showed the BG Welcome tariff guaranteed til 31st July 2022 - BG have recently removed the "guarantee" from the tariff details on the website but many of us will be going to the Ombudsman if BG increase the tariff from 1st April !!
  • I have just received an email from Zog in administration it reads as follows:-

I can confirm EDF were sent details of the credit balances in January and now they can view your final statement your account will be updated. Unfortunately, I am not able to confirm EDF's timescales on when this will be done.

So it does look like Edf energy are playing silly games when coming to credit people's accounts. The whole process is beyond ridiculous now. Totally understand edf may have limited staff or the administrators have been slow. But edf energy does have all our infomation according to Zog.

I wonder what a small court claim against edf would achieve? Would we get our money or balances quicker?

Just got a message from EDF apologising for the *****-up with the letter sent out in December, where other people's address lines were included.

And we trust them to build nuclear power stations!
  • Eventually got to speak to someone in charge at Edf energy.... wait for it chaps they are now apparently so behind it could take up to SIX months before credits and bills to align with Zog. The whole process is a total shambles.

Of course edf still wants to take more money off you even though you have hundreds sat on your account with Zog.

What can we do about it looks like nothing.

It is difficult to see how a Small Claims Court could make a decision in your favour based on the fact that you are an unsecured creditor of a failed company. You would be suing EDF for money that technically it does not owe you: it is only paying you back your credit because it is protected by a Government run Scheme.
  • The whole process seems flawed and the customer is the one that suffers. I appreciate the courts would do nothing but if I told edf energy to swivel for payments until you sorted it out they soon have you in court.

I am furious that hundreds of pounds are sat in thin air and that I'm paying again for a bill that I haven't already paid.

It was your choice to build up a large credit.

Especially when you can pay by variable direct debit!
  • Hrm that wasn't the case with zog energy.... they told you each month what to pay on the tariff you are on. Summer months spent less and builds up to pay for winter.

OK - I was only with them a couple of months so hadn't got round to asking them about variable DDs. I've pretty much always paid by variable DD with other energy suppliers (even if they don't advertise the fact).
