I gave meter readings on 4th, 15th, 21st & 31st Dec. Early Jan. logged into account to set up direct debit, looked for the pay whole amount monthly option, wasn't one. Spoke to someone on chat, who was able to set this up for me, thought great, looks like this could be easy. Gave a meter reading yesterday, and told my last reading was given on 4th Dec.!!! Would like to know what has happened to all the other readings I gave, I am now not impressed. Just finished sorting out my broadband/phone provider fiasco, that took over 2 months, numerous e'mails, over 30 hrs ringing them, so will be really cheesed off if I have any problems with EDF.0

As I feared, EDF is playing games with the Final Billing rules. It has issued a Final Bill based on a reading 7 days before the billing date. It has ignored any correction for DD payments; missed out the period from the 4th to the 14th December, and it has failed to apply any Zog credit. So that people are forewarned, it has also come up with an annual usage estimate 40% higher than it should be. My gas smart meter was installed 14 months and it has ye t to reach the estimated annual usage: it is about 2000kWh short.2

I spoke to somebody at EDF who seemed very helpful yesterday over their using '0' as the initial reading in my final bill. She couldn't understand why because they have my initial reading in my account. Anyway, I've to send a couple of readings two days apart (directly to her) and she'll amend everything. They are still waiting for the opening read from Octopus to filter through to them but she assured me that everything will balance out in the end. Time will tell...[Deleted User] said:As I feared, EDF is playing games with the Final Billing rules. It has issued a Final Bill based on a reading 7 days before the billing date. EDF should not have issued a final bill until the industry-validated reading was obtained from Octopus' Data Collector.Umiamz said:

- 27.18 Where subsequent information becomes available to correct an error in the final Bill or statement of account issued pursuant to paragraph 27.17, the licensee shall send a corrected Bill or statement of account as soon as reasonably practicable after the subsequent information becomes available. - Clearly, by issuing a bill under 27.17 suppliers can avoid the possibility of compensation knowing that they can default to 27.18. This is a particularly poor piece of legislation.

I wonder which company will pay the £200 rebate (loan) where the customer has different gas and electricity suppliers.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

As not everyone has gas ,any reductions (if they happen!) will have to be on leccy bills.Sterlingtimes said:I wonder which company will pay the £200 rebate (loan) where the customer has different gas and electricity suppliers.1
