Who is right, should we pay ZOG (in administration), or just sit tight?

I thought that the whole idea of a SoLR is that everything is handed over to the new SoLR, and they resolve all this. Why are Zog sending out bills, and chasing them?

In the chat, with EDF, the advisor said:
"Yoir opening reading is 1,858 and this is your closing reading with zog energy."

:*  Sorry, but that's not right, because ZOG's "final" statement says a much lower figure.
Chat just ended.  In the opinion of the advisor, all this will be handled by EDF. She recommended that I wait for a while, and see what EDF receive, in the way of final figures.

Surely someone needs to tell ZOG not to be chasing bills!

Any debts accrued up until they ceased trading are owed to Zog and are rightfully due to the administrators, debit balances are generally not handled by the gaining supplier unless they have been asked to do so. If the administrators have asked for payment and the bill is accurate it should be paid.  Any discrepency on opening reads should be taken up with EDF.  Any credit balances will be notified to EDF by the administrators, credited to accounts or paid by cheque / bank transfer by EDF and reclaimed from the SoLR levy fund. EDF front line call handlers will not have a clue what is going on behind the scenes apart from what limited information they will have on the screen in front of them and will make something up to fill in the gaps.  Their confusion over the opening read is because they have only got the "first read" you gave them and have not yet received anything from the administrators.

5 mins in webchat with EDF and the conclusion is "their website tells you fibs".
    ...
So my bill for 15th Dec to 22nd of Jan will be available to me today or tomorrow, and the payment for the 24th of Jan will be taken by the 7th of Feb.
It's almost a week later than advertised but EDF's website claims I have a bill for the period 15/12 - 25/01, for £65-ish. (I say "claims"; the "view details" link doesn't do anything. Maybe it will tomorrow?)
Payment for the whole bill is due to be taken on the 15th of Feb.

Yes, View Details doesn't work for me, either. My bill is nearly 3 times what it should be, so I contacted them via Chat and asked what meter readings they used. I was told the starting reading was 0 and the end reading was 350, which is utter nonsense. The agent then asked me to give him a few minutes to investigate and the chat session timed out. Tried ringing but gave up after 30 minutes without the call being answered. I'll try again tomorrow.

My bill is visible today. EDF have a poor estimate for the 15th of Dec (I gave them a reading on the 14th but their estimate for the 15th is 37 m3 higher) but their reading for the 25th of Jan is one of mine.
I guess it will all come out in the wash once Zog's 4th/5th of Dec closing reading appears as the opening reading on my EDF account.
And they've charged me at the cash/cvheque rate up to the 2nd of Jan (when I set up my DD). They should correct for that in my next bill (fingers crossed).

My EDF DD has been set up at a higher (though not unexpected) rate and they have several recent readings.
But got a printed letter today stating:
"we wanted to let you know, the bill for your Gas will be later than your current billing date. This is so we can carry out meter reading visits and bill you accurately once we have those readings, if necessary".
Do they not trust the ZOG forwarded readings or my own submitted readings?
Has anyone else had this letter?

I haven't - but I wonder whether your last Zog read/1st EDF read were out of line with the figure produced by the EDF data collectors ?

Still no EDF bill for me.

I did bung in another meter reading but it said they didn't want it. Strange company.

Despite me giving several readings when required, Zog still estimated the final reading which was over
by about a month's worth at my usage so maybe that is why they want to actually visit and read.
I'm Ok with that as long as I don't end up overpaying too much to start with.

That will be in your favour as the Zog rates were far lower than those of EDF.
