I just got a paper bill for 12 days standing charges for December 4-15th. Rude of them to sort that out without checking their opening reading. I probably still owe them about £3 though.
I had a paper bill in early March for standing charges for that period and estimated usage charges (based on actual closing read with Zog and a read I'd supplied on the EDF site). It was calculated at the cash.chq rate.
They then calculated the difference between the cash/chq rate and DD rate and gave a rebate on the next bill, which also included the charges from the paper bill. Never had a breakdown of the rebate, which was several ££s more than I'd reckoned!!

Daft question but I haven't found the answer yet. All the media I've seen about whether to fix assumes you're on dual fuel but us SOLR lot are likely with separate companies for each fuel.
Is the advice the same for each fuel? Or does one typically rise by more than the other?

Gas rose by more than electricity last time & is forecast to do so again in October.
The only fixed offer being shown to me by EDF for my gas is for 2 years, with a £100 exit fee & rates that probably are likely to be ~October's forecast SVT.

Thanks. My husband is eligible for their staff price but it was never worth looking at before now. It's a 2 year fix but with no exit fee for him. It feels weird to consider fixing at more than I pay now but I'll probably do it.

I  was being offered the same thing, 12.519p per kWh with a £100 exit fee but now when I log in I am also being offered 11.532p per kWh with a £150 exit fee. Both are two years and both have the same price standing charge as now on the SVT. It is becoming very tempting to go for it considering that fixes are disappearing with consistently increasing costs for the height of summer and the expected projection for October's SVT are increasing. Even if it will be short term pain, at least it is summer.

I have managed to get a reply from a company and I've asked them to go ahead and start moving my gas to them away from EDF.  There is a backlog so I'm waiting to get a email to advise its started and any further details.
The cost saving isn't that much but I'm not overly impressed with EDF so I've decided to move.  I got a bill saying it was based on Estimates, even though I did provide a meter reading by the date requested and it was even on the bill so all very odd, not to mention I found there billing rather confusing to understand so I've decided to switch and fix for 2 years elsewhere.  It will be with same company Elec is with but Elec is already fixed till 2023 so means they will be out of sync when rate ends but I'll live with it for now.  Eventually if prices drop, might then pay exit fee if worth it and then re-fix on a dual fuel tariff.

Juist hoping they start the process soon and before any potential tariff price changes..

If the billing date is different from the date that the actual metering was supplied then some suppliers will estimate a meter reading for the billing date. If I recall, this was the case with Zog.

Yep - I remember one of the reasons why I left (other than to get a better price many moons ago).

The current SOLR process has sorely reminded how unhelpful their billing system is, I have got used to monthly billing based on monthly meter reads - not so with EDF.

My last day with EDF is this coming Saturday - can't wait.
