Just submitted read, web page says by 10th.  Web page showing last review June, next review July with no change to DD but no breakdown of how they came to that decision - I did change it in march to catch up - and app account balance is spot on as per my calculation after this read.  By my calculation at the next review my DD will have to double :o

Just submitted my meter reading which they wanted by 3rd June.
Will wait and see what happens from here as they said on website needed by 24th June so will see if i get a bill or further emails for readings nearer 24th June..

    Kev
Have you not checked ?  Yesterday the account balance and DD amount was there instantly after submitting the read.

Yes, I checked yesterday after I submitted the readings and no bill or change in credit balance or DD.  I've also checked this morning and again no bill or change in credit balance or DD.  Perhaps they will wait till 24th June?

I have checked on the site under meter reading and it is saying my last submitted reading was yesterday at the correct figure so they definitely have the meter reading so guess will wait and see when i get a bill / DD adjustment (if any).

    Kev

It says it can take 5 working days for bill to be issued, so if you haven't got it after that then contact EDF. That's what I had to do as mine was stuck and had to be released manually, I wasn't given a proper reason. The website showed that they had my meter reading but the balance did not change until I spoke to support and then I got bill next day, so it looks like you might have the same scenario as me.
Thanks, I'll wait till after 10th and see what the account shows then as I submitted on 1st and obviously is now the bank holidays so i'll see what happens after 10th.

    Thanks

    Kev

I just don't get how EDF stay in business.....

e-mail asking for read by 8th, also on bills & payments page of myaccount saying same, but banner across top of home page saying read by 29 June.

So, I enter read this morning, and instantly get message saying £70 in credit, about right, and this evening all that has gone apart from the banner saying give us reads by 29th!!

    Complete and utter c1ust3r4uck .....

    ....and it gets worse.....

bill generated, all ok, but now they're saying in myaccount they're giving me more time for a read and there's a bill due on 1 July!!!

Their IT sooo needs replacing with something remotely fit for purpose...hope the Kraken implementation doesn't take too long while I'm stuck with EDF :(

Same here - still showing message about submitting reading by 24th June to avoid an estimated bill even after raising an actual bill up to 1st June. I'll put one in to see what happens on the 24th !!

I have to submit a reading by 28 June according to the on-screen instruction but I have submitted it today because EDF is coming to replace my gas smart meter tomorrow morning. So far, EDF has not made a mistake with numbers: the problem is with their presentation to the customer using the website and/or the android app.
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".
  • Personally I just submit a meter reading on the last day of each month regardless of what spurious message appears on my account.

I haven't encountered any problems so far and life is too short to get worked up about EDF's billing system. As long as you keep your own records nothing untoward is going to happen.
