Hopefully the last time posting on this thread.
Finally agreed to Tuesday to move my Gas to join my electricity at Shell. Requested a bill via webchat yesterday once they actually had people assigned to it. Email today and on checking everything is present and correct, credit from ZOG, 4th to 15th Dec as per paper bill and all my other adjustments. Agreed not the easiest to read but it is all there and accurate. Only thing was a rise in my Direct Debit from £30 to £38 but as I'm leaving this won't an issue. Anyway my estimate per month for the next 12 months is £45 per month.
    I've downloaded statements from EDF Dec 15 - Jan 5, Jan 6 -  March 1 , March 2  - April 4  but the debit I have for this period Dec 4 - 15  has not been charged.  @FishinGlass are you sure ?

Indeed... I thought my corrected and then corrected again bill was from 4th, then I noticed it wasn't (dyslexic moment, 4th Dec  reading was xx437, and the 15th was xx473, EDF have opened with xx473  :# )

I've had mine, too, both the letter-in-the-post and the pdf bill with the entry on it. Apologies if I didn't mention it!

I spoke to soon about the last time posting here.
Overnight I had an email saying I had a new bill. When I checked online it was to replace the one I had the day before.
The only difference is on the new bill they have changed my charges between the 1st and 6th April to use the old rate.
    Confused!!

I've had the 4-15 December as paper bill. It's not showing online at all.

The DD they took this week was refunded by the bank as suggested by their complaint team but online account shows they will attempt to take again after Easter and says if not successful the DD mandate will be cancelled. Normal monthly DD will be taken before then but it sounds like they will actually try to take the second DD from the explanation the CS rep gave.
Hard to know whether to try to move to Eon now or wait till they can sort the bills out but that might take forever!
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • I too seem to be stuck in the never ending hell that is EDF. I thought I was sorted and they were due to take a direct debit on 6/4. It never happened, and next day there was a message on my web interface account (but not the app), that the dd had failed. EDF would try again on 20/4, and if that failed it would withdraw the dd option and charge me at cash/cheque rates!!

Speaking to my bank, it said that the dd had been in place since 31/12, and there was no reason whatsoever for it to fail. Meanwhile EDF customer services has gone awol again, and I am still waiting for them to get back with an explanation.

This happened to me as well a few months ago; no reason why it failed; but it was taken OK a week later - nothing had changed at all. I think it was because they tried to request the D/D for a date that was a non banking day.
