...and EDF's poxy billing system shines again....

. random debit has appeared online for £20:86, in grey, but not with a minus sign in front of it, no explaination of what it's for, nothing... I fear I'm going to have to call them :(
If £20.86 matches the Bill Adjustment amount (plus VAT) on your 15 December 2021 - 31 December 2021 statement then it is the charges for the 04 December 2021 - 15 December 2021 period which you should have already received a paper statement for.

But yes I agree their billing system leaves a lot to be desired.
No, it matches nothing at all on either of the 2 bills I've had from them.... it is spookily close to what they should be charging for 4-15 Dec (my calc without the correct calorific value and VAT-inc) but not laid out on any form of bill anywhere.

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

This is what I have received.

    Paper Bill 04 December - 15 December

    Electronic Bill 15 December - 31 December

    £17.32 + 5% VAT = £18.19

    My bills and payments

lucky you....I've not had any paper bills from them, the 2 I have are online only (and downloaded and saved safely ;) ) and certainly nothing from 4-15 Dec.

As I said, their billing system is pants...

It might still arrive. I had a paper bill for those dates recently and nothing shows for it online with EDF even now. The only item is a debit carried forward but no bill showing.

Looking into my Eon.next account and that's not much better. They took over the supply from Symbio on 3rd Oct and I've not yet had a bill from them despite their initial emails promising "a monthly bill to ensure you're paying the right amount". Fortunately I keep a track of readings and use but I can imagine for someone less aware to have no bills for over 7 months of the highest use period could cause real problems when they finally raise it.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • EDF customer services seems completely unobtainable at the moment. I have a direct debit query outstanding since last Thursday morning on Twitter, where I've had success before. I tried Chat, and had a very interesting conversation with a bot, until it decided my query was non-standard, no human advisers were available, so closed the dialogue. Next stop was SMS text - it transpires that the text interface is exactly the same as the chat one, and just as useless.

Do they answer the phone? Queueing time?

@The_Green_Hornet     I had a similar statement Dec 15 but mine went to Jan5   but no bill adjustment.  That occurs on one which I had to request from Jan 6 to March 1  (but its wrong as it happens as its billed on a cheque.cash tariff)  Perhaps that tariff adjustment to DD is hiding in my next statement ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I know! But they're threatening to kick me off direct debit because a transaction failed last week (no, not insufficient funds). I've spoken to my bank, and there is nothing wrong with the dd. Moreover, they have no record of EDF trying to take it.

It can't just be luck so I wonder what the difference between our two accounts is then.

For my part, I am on Budget Direct Debit (Monthly) plus I have never requested a bill just let the SOLR process run its course.

Me too, budget DD, and I requested the second bill (1 day after the first) 'coz the first one was pants and made no sense  :s

So I got them on the phone, gave them the correct info and they issued another bill the da after...and that was pants too even after me really really making sure the CS bod understood why I was calling it pants!!!
