EDF cheque received today.  Not paid a cheque into my account for years.  Love the scan a cheque on mobile banking.

    Edit

It now seems that my final gas bill was not my final bill.  Over the weekend, my balance was zero.

Just logged on now and see that I have a negative balance of £16.21 but no bill showing for this.  I am assuming that this is for the 5-15.12.21.

If so, surely a final gas bill is indeed a final bill and they cannot then add at a later date?

I had a spurious 2nd DD which disappeared as quickly as it appeared.

Don't try to look for any logic with EDF -
Finally got a reply from EDF, the agent doesn't appear to be able to see the DD that's showing on the online account and only listed the standard one I've been paying as being due. I think I need to move elsewhere if I can find a supplier to take on SVR
Let me know if you find one. I tried looking and citizens advice linked to utility warehouse which says it's taking on customers but you have to speak to a representative. There are different discounts for how many products you have with them and it sounded like a hard sell pyramid scheme maybe?
I thought I might be able to transfer to EON that supply my electric but there isn't the option to do so - the page just says "we advise not to switch at present"
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

UW seem to be just as bad as EDF, from reading threads on here. Plus there's the pyramid scheme overtones.

You could try calling/emailing/messaging them and see what they say?
My electricity is with Octopus and once I get a coherent set of bills from EDF (which could take a while, I realise) I'm wondering about asking if they'll take my gas too.

Oh yes they can. Revised Final Bills are permitted under Standard Licence Conditions. Sadly, this section of the Supply Licence appears to have been drafted by a 5 year old. It allows a supplier to issue something within the 6 week period to meet the compensation payment regulations, and then change it at will. Look at 27.18 below:

27.17 Where the responsibility for the supply of gas to a Domestic Customer transfers from the licensee to another Gas Supplier or otherwise terminates, the license must take all reasonable steps to send a final Bill or statement of account of the Domestic Customer’s account within 6 weeks of the supplier transfer or termination of the Domestic Supply Contract.

27.18 Where subsequent information becomes available to correct an error in the final Bill or statement of account issued pursuant to paragraph 27.17, the licensee shall send a corrected Bill or statement of account as soon as reasonably practicable after the subsequent information becomes available.

EDIT I just tried that link and it says service not available. I guess we'd have to email them. hi@eonnext.com

Eon Next said this to me
"In regards to switching your gas supply over to us please see below the relevant link to generate a quote. All you need to do is fill out the relevant information🙂 https://www.eonnext.com/electricity-and-gas. If you do already have an online account with us please ensure this is logged out before generating the quote."

Now, I had been asking about a fix at that point (I don't recall if Next Flex was an option then) so I'm unsure if they take my gas supply on the SVR, but worth an ask. But I also want to know who I could switch my gas to as not at all interested in EDF.
  • I have just received my first bill/statement and I can now see why some people are getting confused as although it states it is for 15 December 2021 - 31 December 2021 it actually covers the whole period from when EDF took over from ZOG on 4 December 2021 but it doesn't show the calculations from that date up until 14 December 2021 just a one line entry entitled Bill Adjustment.

Thankfully it all tallies with my own spreadsheet once I amended the calorific value but it does beg the question as to why they don't show their actually workings out on this and the Price Rebate (which is also shown as a single entry).

    Onwards and upwards.

Look what the clowns at EDF are now showing as my tariff from April 1st....😱.  Only gone and doubled up the unit tariff (should be 7.48p)...still they've got the SC right 😅.   Do they have a clue what they are doing??

Perhaps their crystal ball is predicting the price cap from October? They might just be letting us know in advance like they did with the April increase? Mine is still correct but I am on fixed monthly DD for now.

EDF are a real shower of shine!

Maybe complain and extract some compensation?

Got an e'mail notification that my bill is now available to view, this is the 3rd gas bill in less than a month!  I too had an odd amount added with no explanation, does not tie up with what I owe 4th - 15th Dec. so I went on chat, (this is the 3rd time I have had to contact them), got told this amount was owed from my 30th Sept - 31st Oct. Zog bill!!!!!! Rubbish, as I told them, at that time my account was £63.67 in credit. What the hell are they playing at, and does anyone working for EDF know the right answer. Flaming stupid to add an amount to peoples' bills with no explanation.

Asked where I can see info about how much and when I get paid the dual fuel discount now I have gas with them as well, they asked me if I wanted them to supply my electric as well, streuth, they have supplied my electric for over 40yrs. Can anyone on here answer that for me please, as the person I spoke to didn't know!!!

How are people getting compensation, as I have not been offered any? I can't handle this anymore, it is taking ages to sort out their bills. But I cannot find another supplier who is taking anymore customers, if anyone finds any, please could you let me know, thank you.

Are you getting confused with the Neon Reef to BG fiasco ?. A number of us have rec'd payment for the tariff "mistake" on that process, but can't remember seeing anyone getting comp. for the Zog to EDF transfer altho some of have got the diff. between the cash and DD tariffs refunded
