The way bills are calculated is wrong IMO.. unless im having a senior moment.

If your bill is 800 -900 one month and the next is shown as 900-1000 , arnt you always being charged twice for the last/first unit?
No, because the calculation is not inclusive, you are only billed for the difference.
    Smaller numbers for simplicity...
    0-2 and then 2-4 is 2-0 = 2, then 4-2 =2, total billed is 2+2 = 4
    ... or 0-4 is 4-0=4

Hmm...just had Dec 4-31 in post, and after I complained about their carpy billing system also one from 1 Jan - 23 march...looking over the pair of them and my calcs, I'm still in credit within pennies of what I should be...

Oh, and the 1 Jan bill did actually use my 4 Dec opening reading, surprisingly.

But by Christ it shouldn't be this difficult....

Have a look at the unit rates / standing charge and you may find they are at cash/cheque rates rather than DD
Just double checked mine and they are at the cash/cheque rates rather than DD.

Time for a snail mail COMPLAINT letter for me -  EDF really are paying for their chronic systems.
do you have the postal address for such complaints to EDF? there's no mention that I can see of an address on the website or their bills.

Why are you complaining by letter? Why not email or call the complaints team direct?

True, just seems a very antiquated and long winded way of doing things

Like so many others, I received a paper bill yesterday covering the missing period 4-15 December. I also noticed that they have double charged standing charge for 15 December. The readings are both labelled "estimates". The opening read does match the final Zog reading (which is also an estimate) and the 15 December reading matches the one on my first online bill (which was not an estimate and is not labelled as such in my first PDF bill, so why is it described as such on the paper bill?)
The mystery credit is still about £1 more than I calculate it should be to cover the period I was on the cash rates. This will therefore more than cover the extra day's standing charge.
My online account is now showing as being in debit by the amount of this paper bill. However, they have still not taken the direct debit for my online bill, so presumably that should still be showing as part of the debit balance at the moment.
What a mess EDF's handling of this is!

Got a letter today explaining the extra charge on my bill, would have helped if this was received before they charged me! It is for the 4th - 15th Dec. charged at cash rates, not D/D. plus S/C for the 4th which Zog had already charged me for. The £2. credit they gave me a couple of weeks ago, and took off my bill, they have how added it onto my account saying I owe this, stone the crows, wonder what other muck ups they will make.

Having wasted a lot of time and failing miserably with Chat on other issues - a couple of minutes and a postage stamp is better use of my time.  I just want a  resolution of this mess so I can move forward

There is still no online presence for the bill I received earlier this week. As @jrawle (and others) have said "What a mess"

A dedicated email address would have saved a lot of Chat, complaint and billing time. EDF has created a lot of work for itself with it's repeated gaps in info and failure to inform.

It's been about 15 weeks ,and 35 hours week for a team of 2 would have cracked this
