We're in the NE and it's been disgraceful really. Some people have an estimated date / time of 12 midday tomorrow and the power went off 6pm of Friday. NPG say people should be prepared.Remind me how much we pay in standing charges per year, per household. They just keep saying the issues are complex.
We lived in the USA and had frequent storms, including ice storms in the winter . Loads of trees including pines which are notorious for coming down .All overhead cables to the bottom of driveways and the longest we were ever without power was 3 hrs.0 -
No, but it's not Friday night now, it's Monday lunchtime and the winds had dropped right down by Saturday morning[Deleted User] said:Swipe said:That's outrageous and you will be entitled to a little compensation (emphasis on the little)Hi,how can you say that when you don't know the cause of the damage. Was it an over head line brought down, sub station shut down? It's not just as easy as flicking a switch, the fault has to be found and then repaired.Would you've been happy going out in the storm on Friday night, maybe trekking across fields to find and repair a broken pole?0 -
where are you?saunaboy said:40 houses in postcode area. In our street there are 3 out of 10 houses out. Seems random cables have fallen.
Comms have been non existent. Their site now says variously that 1) they will have fixed us by 1200 today or 2) they aren't aware of an issue depending how you search an update map.0 -

On the basis you will be getting £140 a day from this point on, go and book into a nice hotel.0

Do you have gas, or only electricity?saunaboy said:Any advice? Is 9c in house 3rd day running. If I was in your position and still had gas, I'd put my oven on and start cooking something from the freezer. Something slow, like a chicken or a leg of pork. You'll get a hot meal and a warm kitchen.(This isn't meant to sound facetious but if it's already occurred to you, apologies.)N. Hampshire, he/him.
