No, I'm not going ... yet ...but I have seen those other 'extra' goodies (or  what they had proposed) and there was nowt for me.
I am already working 'in the dark' as I cannnot access either my main a/c or blue rewards online as I have old computer/ old Firefox which I can not upgrade so anytime I want to do anything I have to phone up. They have already threatened that you need to access your account online only to get the rewards....

I can not see the point of paying out £5 to earn £5
So it will , ultimately, be 'bye bye'

I would if I could but I just don't remember what they were proposing- it was some months ago when I answered their survey- and nothing appealed, but of course that's not to say that they might be perfect rewards for you !

Don't have smart phone or any apps & that might be essential.

Strangely enough I like cash rewards- then I can spend them as & when I want.......

  • Another one bites the dust. Been slowly whittling my bank accounts and credit cards down, this year. Less paperwork. Less to keep track of.

same here, am in process of tidying up my unwanted current, savings and credit cards before the end of the year, so am switching this one out now as will be no longer beneficial and saves me doing it in a few months time.  also in process of getting rid of my post office savings accounts i will no longer need (given the end of the direct debits).

    Well, I've gone early...
Decided to take up the offer from Halifax for a £125 switching bonus and £5/month.

Shame really, as my main account has been with Barclays for 30 years!

When you read the email its easy to mistakenly think you are getting £5 for each D/D paid out since in the previous line they mentioned that you get £3.50 per D/D under the existing framework, and then goes on to say it will be £5 under the new one.  It then of course mentions you need to have 2 DDs going out to earn that reward, although it does not specifically say its £5 for both, and not each of the first two DD's, I assume it is the former and not the latter anyway.  It wasn't abundantly clear in its wording, but I assumed that effectively the fee will simply account for the the DDs and zero net gain.  Shame.

I will be keeping my account though for the time being at least seeing as my cash isa with them earns a rate of 1.25% and I still believe that's better or equal to anything and currently turns me over £10 a month in interest that I'd probably only get half that in the next best cash ISA for 10k.

Easily mistaken? It's their bold, too.
'Your loyalty reward - At the moment, you can earn a maximum of £7 a month (£3.50 for each of your first two Direct Debit payments). This will become £5 a month and you'll need two or more Direct Debits paid successfully from your chosen current account to earn this reward'
