Got an email today from Barclays saying that changes are afoot on the fee chargeable and the rewards payable under the Blue Rewards scheme. Seems that we have to wait until December for further details. I'm guessing that the changes will not be to the customer's advantage. Has anyone any inking what is going on?

I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.2 -
Yes there are changes going to happen but as of yet no details. They have temporarily stopped new registrations to join blue rewards until the new changes have landed.1

I don't like the part in bolded text at all...I have a mortgage with them and I've been getting £12 in blue rewards each month (less the £4 fee) over the past several years. I even got multiple rewards for 2 years or so, they had some offers for existing customers. I'm opted out of their marketing comms...
My guess is that they'll make it much less attractive, thus more expensive... we shall see.Hello ABC,We'd like to tell you about some changes we're making to Barclays Blue Rewards over the next few months. What's happeningWe're introducing some new benefits such as exciting offers from specially selected partners, as well as regular prize draws that you'll be able to enter. We're also making some changes to the monthly membership fee and cash rewards - we'll be back in touch in December with more information about that, so keep an eye on your inbox.Don't miss outTo make sure you're in the know about the new benefits, including offers from our partners, check that you're set up to get marketing communications. Just open the Barclays app*, tap 'More', 'Settings', 'Marketing choices' and select how you'd prefer to be contacted. If you'd rather not get any marketing communications, you can choose to opt-out of these at any time.If you feel Barclays Blue Rewards is no longer right for you, we'll be really sorry to lose you, however you can cancel your membership at any time in the app* or in Online Banking. We'll be in touch again soonWe're planning to be in touch more regularly from now on to let you know about the latest offers available. In the meantime, you can explore your membership rewards by searching Barclays Blue Rewards online or tapping on 'Rewards' in your app.Your Barclays team3 -
I'm not surprised. Barclays' 'Premier' offering is soon to be downgraded as well.0

I've had my email this morning, it will be a shame if they get rid of it or reduce it significantly but i suppose it was good whilst it lasted I have been able to benefit from two lots of double rewards through them too and looking at the app have earned £431 in rewards (though the fee would reduce that).
Think that i will see what they plan to change it to and if signficantly reduces, Imay look to switch the account over to my newer RBS Select account (and then upgrade that to the RBS rewards account for their rewards).MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
