Still hoping that there will be some sort of switching bonus that makes it worthwhile keeping this going.
Yes, I now have 2 accounts waiting for a good deal- one for which I qualify I mean!
Either the dates are wrong or you need to sign into their bank app. Since I don't have a smart phone that's a no-go.

However my Blue rewards have been axed and only one DD will go out now. I used my Barclaycard as a convenient DD spending a small amount once a month. That card can go back in the drawer!

Don't you get cashback on your Barclaycard?

No. never have done. Use a.n.other cards

Today I  got an email from Barclays

"You're earning less from Barclays Blue Rewards than you're paying ― we'll cancel your membership if you don't start earning enough"
I cancelled Blue Rewards earlier this week anyway but I assume that hasn't happened  yet.
    Shame, it was generous.

  • Getting a bit confused about the exact time to cancel the Blue Rewards.

I have cancelled my direct debits and the £800 standing order in and out, this month, after all been transacted.

If I cancel rewards Feb 28th, then presumably I'll not get the reward on March 2nd. But if I cancel the rewards later on March 2nd will I not incur the £5 charge in April for having rewards active for the 2 days in March?
  • Asked and answered already, cancel Blue rewards once the reward payment is received in March.  You will not be charged the fee in April.

Well, I've switched by Barclays to my existing Santander account. Earn the £140, close the Barclays account and let the Post Office direct debit die. Kill three birds with one stone

I’ve read the entire thread and understand it’s best to cancel as soon as the reward is paid in March, but have two more questions:

    1) do I still pay the fee in March?
    2) do I still need to pay out two DDs in March?

Just trying to maximise what I get :-)

You will pay a fee for as long you are registered for the Reward account. You will also only get the Reward payment if you are still registered . Reward payment happens on the same day as the Reward fee is taken. So if you want the Reward payment in March, you are paying the Reward fee in March.

If you are cancelling Blue Rewards in March, there is not much point in paying the DDs you have set up for the Blue Rewards. However, if you are planning on switching your Barclays account for a switch bonus, you might want to keep the DDs going.
