Sorry I’m confused about whether regards and fee payments are taken in the month they are applicable, or in advance/arrears.

eg if I pay the fee in March, is the reward I get in March for March or for February. And are the direct debits I pay in March affecting my reward for March?

    sorry for being dim

Do the Terms and Conditions help?:

"pay the monthly fee, which is paid from your nominated current account on the second working day of the following month. Up to 28 February 2022 the monthly fee is £4. From 1 March 2022 the monthly fee is £5. So, April 2022 will be the first month you pay the new monthly fee."

"You can cancel your Barclays Blue Rewards at any time either through Online Banking or with the Barclays app. If you do this before 5pm on the last day of the month, we won’t charge the next monthly fee. "

    "
Up to 28 February 2022 you will receive a £3.50 reward for each of your first two successful Direct Debit payments, up to £7 each month. From 1 March 2022 you will receive £5 each month if you have two or more successful Direct Debits payments. So, April 2022 will be the first month you’ll receive the new Loyalty Reward."

  • No Barclays Blue payment yet this month - normally showing around midday on 2nd working day.  Perhaps they're delaying as they know what's coming...😁

Still nothing and it's now turned 5. Anybody had theirs ?
  • Nope, nothing yet.  My previous comment was tongue in cheek, but does appear they're actually having issues today (the app was down earlier too).  Won't miss them much to be honest...
  • Mine was showing today.

Emptied rewards account into my main account.

    Clicked leave Rewards

    App reloaded without Blue Rewards.

Whole thing completed in literally seconds 👍

I also did as the wise one does and also noted that I had earned over £400 in Blue Rewards :)

    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

I switched my Barclays Blue Rewards to Santander - the switch completed today, 3rd March.

I had timed it to get the last rewards payment on the 2nd as usual, but like others above, the payment didn't arrive on the 2nd. So no last reward for me.

Account now closed, but I just got a text from Barclays telling me my account (the one that doesn't now exist) has 'exceeded its borrowing limit' - i.e. is overdrawn.

I assume this is Barclays trying to take the Blue rewards fee that they should have taken yesterday. If so it's not very intelligent messaging on their part.

It will be interesting to see if they follow this up in any way.  The text implies I owe them money - which I clearly don't .

Edited to add:  I just tried logging in to Barclays, just to check the account is definitely gone. It was the only product I had with them so, not surprisingly, the login failed, as there is no account. So I cannot be over my borrowing limit on it.

They can take the fee from the last reward they owe you! And send you the remainder
