If I meet the March criteria and then leave Blue Rewards, would I still get 7-4£ by 4th April?

Giammy85;  reward payments in April will be the new max of £5, March was the last payment of max £7.

Has anyone keeping their Blue Rewards accounts seem anything of the competitions and special offers we are meant to get going forwards? Not had anything myself yet.

Competitions with entry links have been emailed, I switched my account out just in case the more that do that increases chances of a switch incentive being offered at a later date.
  • Has anyone that cancelled their Blue Reward had an email saying sorry you've left or that the Blue rewards account has been closed?

My sister cancelled hers just before she switched it out and had received both of these emails within a number of days, but I cancelled mine on the 3rd after receiving the March reward and have received neither. The Reward account disappeared, but I've got a Rewards balance listed which shows cashback earned? Also when I cancelled, I took a screenshot stating "We'd love to see you come back" so I'm guessing Blue Rewards was cancelled OK.

I've kept the blue rewards for the moment, not because it's going to give me anything but just to see what offers are available.
I also received this email which to be fair to Barclays, lays it out that I will not benefit if I carry on with it.

    Hello kaMelo
In December, we got in touch to let you know about some changes we’re making to Barclays Blue Rewards from April 2022. If you missed it, you can find a copy in ‘Statements and documents’ in the Barclays app* or in Online Banking.

What the changes mean for you

At the moment, you only have the Direct Debit loyalty reward, so you’ll see the increased fee of £5 on your statement and £5 going into your wallet from 4 April 2022. This means you won’t earn more in cash rewards than the monthly fee.

As part of your membership, you do now have access to prize draws and offers brought to you from specially selected partners. If you haven’t heard from us about these offers, check you're set up to receive marketing emails. Just open the app*, tap 'More', 'Settings', 'Marketing choices' and select ‘email’. If you'd rather not receive any marketing communications, you can opt out at any time.

You can also check if you’re eligible for any of the other rewards that come with being a member, by searching 'Barclays Blue Rewards' online.
    What happens next?

If you’re happy with the changes, you don’t need to do anything. But remember, make sure you’ve got enough money in your account to cover the monthly £5 fee – it could make you go overdrawn as it’s taken out automatically. As a reminder, the fee comes out on the second working day each month, so you can make a note to check your balance before then.

You can see the new terms by searching ‘Barclays Blue Rewards’ online or you can find them in the app* and Online Banking.

You can cancel your membership with us at any time in the app* or in Online Banking. If you want to do this before paying the new monthly fee of £5, you’ll need to cancel by 5pm on 31 March 2022. If you also have a Blue Rewards Saver account, we’ll change it to a Barclays instant access savings account – we’ll contact you about this separately.
    We’re here to help

If you have any questions about these changes, you can get in touch using the app*. To do this, log in and scroll down to ‘Contact us’.
*You need to be aged 18 or over to access this product or service using the app. T&Cs apply.
    Yours sincerely

    Your Barclays team

If you join today, you should not pay a fee until the beginning of next month.

It comes out on the second working day of the month. Today is the first.

As @NedS said though, if you join today then they will not take the first fee until the second working day of the month following joining, i.e. November in this case.

If your Barclays current account does not pay out two direct debits this month, however, ( as well as £800 worth of deposits) you will not earn the £5 reward for this month to negate next month's fee.
  • Has the fee come out twice this monthly for anyone else?
One is called "Barclays Blue Rewards" and the other is "Blue Rewards Fee CB"
