Hi everyone! Well done to all those that have been loosing weight...
Two things firstly I am doing my first 'healthy' shop tomorrow, any advice on how I can avoid my usual favourites- chocolates, crisps etc. I have heard that I should go on a full stomach..but there is no food in my house at the mo..lol
Also I am gonna buy a scale so that I can actually weigh myself. I saw these ones in Argos, do you think there are any good...

Thanks ladies and gents!

QT,
where do you normally put these in your trolley?
are they checkout grabs or do you wander down the naughty ailse?
I avoid the biscuit and sweetie aisle altogether unless I need something specific...Crisps I have to go down as my OH has them in his lunchbox but I try not to have more than 2 packs a week (normally on weekend).
If you normally buy treats for yourself you could try writing them down in a list before you go, then identify the ones you really really enjoy (ones that are not just what make your meal up like crisps used to be for me)...then make a list of alternatives and downsizes...
If you buy lots of mars bars but really love them....then opt for fun size ones..
Have a look for a lower cal alternative or get a bag of interesting fruit to try instead...
Nuts and raisins are good for snacking...dried fruit like apricots....
If you can't go without chocolate why not try the new small green and blacks bars...much stronger flavour so yuo need less...then you can have the very important daily treat without which all would be lost
any help? sorry if its a bit confusing...I forget stuff as I type0 -
QT the shopping researchers say that you should only go into the first 3 aisles, they are the fruit/veg/dairy products and meats and not go further into the shop because then it is all crisps, sweets, treats etc, I know they put the bread and sometimes milk at the back of the shop to make sure you go all along to the end and see it all but if you can refrain all the better:D
The best thing to do is not put it in your basket, don't buy it, therefore not bringing it home, putting it into your cupboards, putting temptation your way and finally having to eat them and stack up the calories:D
I do not buy anything now, no crisps, sweets, biscuits, pastries, cakes nothing of nothing unless it has rainbow calories, is energizing, makes you feel happy and healthy and has very few calories/fat/sugars etc:D
Thanks Anic NUMBERS PRETTY much back to normal apart from 3am this morning but nearly back and I can thank common sense on my part and going back to all the lovely WW stuff that makes me feel much better and keeps my numbers ticking along just fine, I don't miss the xmas stuff at all, there is nothing left here that can tempt me and that is the way I like it:D
Isn't WW doing a week free on their website, saw it advertised on the tele?
seren is right I now have green and blacks dark choc and you only need a little to feel the choc satisfaction kick so it saves on calories, the milk choc type just leaves you wanting more and more and ups the calories, the weight etc but green and blacks is the perfect solution. MY kids have the fun sizes they enjy them, just one or even a kit kat has 100 cals or maltesers are less that 100 cals or try a fruit bar go ahead or be good to yourself from sainsburys or all the WW stuff have choc bars, biscuits, frozen desserts etc for little calories, or a low fat fruit yog or a satsuma or apple for the natural sweetness..0 -

.......they may be. We bought electronic-read scales from Argos and they were great - agreed exactly with what our SW scales said. Last month we needed a set of scales that my wife could use with only one foot as she's broken her leg. We got some £2.99 ones from Argos, and they agree with our electronic ones exactly. So I guess that's a recommendation for Argos scales.
Vix, WW is about a fiver a month. It may be worth going once just to get the points book0 -
QT, if my electronic scales are anything to go by i wouldnt buy electronic. I have recently bought some from dunelm, they have a whole range with 20% off there. AND they have bright pink ones.0

Thanks serendisglair...
Normally i do go down the naughty aisles...but i also get them last minute when i see all the chocolate near the checkout. I only snack on them because I am a final year student and so these days I am up all hours...and it gives me a bit of a sugar boost to keep going..
Unfortunately I don't eat any dried fruit...so that is a no go...but I do like nuts- cashews/pistachios...which I don't think are really good.. I guess I just have a really sweet tooth
But ima try not get nothin naughty 2moro..0 -
Grannynise - there is no need to feel old because you were born the year before in 1967 - as they say you are only as old as you feel and you certainly don't look old in your photos - I would love to be a glamourous granny like yourself when my time comes
