I wanna go and cuddle a bottle of milk now.
It doesnt work!! Im crying into my laptop. But thank you.
Did anyone watch half ton mum last night? It was horrible! She was absolutly massive (as the title suggests). She died in the end, it was quite sad. The reality of it is is that she couldnt get out of her chair for 4 years, so you gotta ask yourself who was feeding her! And at the beggining she said. "theres a few misconseptions about obese people, and one is that we eat all the time, well we dont, i have to remind myself i have to eat sometimes" So why did she need a gastric bypass if eating too much wasnt the problem? I felt sorry for her children, the only memory they have of their mother was of a massivley overweight woman who couldnt be a mother to them at all. I was saying to my boyfriend, those children dont know what its like to be cuddled properly by their mother, or to be taken out for the day or to go shopping or anything. Really sad for them.0 -

Gotta have a go at that today - anyone tried it?
Not yet, but I will, it sounds scrummy. I've just decided that my NY resolution is to try a new recipe every week. That one can be the first. I thought it might help to stick to the healthy eating if I didn't just eat the same things again and again. If anyone has good suggestions for the next few weeks please let me know. Not too complicated, or time consuming.
have just checked fridge and have no aubergines so like a good little MSE person I'll use what I've got ... courgettes, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots .... so it might not be entirely authentic!
Good luck Vixarooni! I'm sorry I don't know ANY of your answers. I've just written up an observation of a lesson, not nearly as long as your essay obviously, but quite challenging. I wanted to write 'your lesson was rubbish please leave my school' but I've had to dress it up a bit.
Debtmummy .... ouch!0 -

Snap....that is my plan too! hope it will get the other half interested in cooking too...I got Nigellas book for Christmas so I'm going to try steak and white bean mash on Saturday (might use a bit less oil though as 60ml sounds like a lot :-)
Don't know if it helps Vix but students here seem to live by wikipedia...a good platform for some proper research...(got me understanding a few sticky subjects ) not sure if it will work for ryanair though0 -
seren, I made the white bean mash from nigella and it was lush. In fact, I think I posted it on the recipes thread. . . . hang on . . . just checking . . . yes, I did! I didn't bother with any oil and used lazy garlic and it turned out yummy. Her rapid ragu is blimmin gorgeous too, but you need to use a HEB of lentils on a red day (if you are SW but I can't remember if you are)
Anic, I did take my boots to glasgow but they didn't get an outing as they were far too tight from the christmas splurge. I had some issues where the buttons were coming off them - it happened to 2 pairs. I took the second pair back for an exchange and the nice lady let me get a refund and buy the new ones at the sale price - how mse is that? woohoo! ROFLing at Thrift monsters mil - it remindedme of the Royle Family when the vegetarian girlfriend is visiting - 'will she have wafer thin ham?'
Thanks for highlighting that recipe ajax it sounds good - I might try it in a couple of weeks.
Well, back to normal and having a green day today. Alas most of my fruit has gone off over christmas without me even noticing. Which tells you a lot about the way i was eating really, doesn't it? Still, at least the fruit juice was good for me!
Hanna, you sound very determined and good luck!0 -
Hi,
is there room on here for a new one? I've been il with flu since Boxing Day so i've managed to loose 7lbs already but with another 2 stone ( 3 stone in my dreams!) to loose to get to a healthy BMI (11stone 7lbs) I feel while i've been ill and given a kick start I should carry it on - the only problem is with having being ill we still have lots of chocs, cheese and bics in the house eeeekkk! I plan on doing it by eating healthy and going to the gym - I was going about 3 times a week before Christmas so when my cough has cleared I hope to get back to that and push myself harder at it. Let me know what I need to do re weight ins etc...

I was doing SW but I can't stick to a thing so I'm trying the more...'eat a bit less' approach now0 -

Welcome to all the newbies (and oldbies) - must be something in the air about this time of year...
Right have decided to go with WW and join next Wed. May just stay long enough to learn the tricks then leave but will also do the esource via quidco thingy. (Anyone know if I can be a member of esource whilst not a member of a club?) Until then will just try to behave and work on the apple-rather-than-mars-bar theory.
New pedometer at xmas so will take it out of its packing tomorrow and try to keep track of my average again. Target 10000 average per day but willbe much harder now as no longer walking to work.
Good luck everybody.

I got the WW pedometer where it tells you how many steps you have taken but also the points you have earnt for activity:D that and some recipe books from WW and the WW scales that calculate the points of the foods for you, I love WW makes it so very easy to keep on track:D0
