    Thanks Serendisglair

Don't have any tahini - do you think using sesame oil in place of olive oil would work?
  • I'd give it a go. I think the trick would be to taste it as it goes.Add a little sesame oil, mix and taste...you can always add in a bit of olive oil if the taste is right but the tecture neeeds a bit more?

all conjecture I'll admit as I have yet to try making any :p

From what I've gathered so far the use of tahini is down to preference so if its the sesame kick you're after then the sesame oil might work.

Nothing to lose and lots of lovely hummous to gain!! If it goes wrong you could always mix it up into a variation of falalfels so you don't waste the chickpeas.

there's also a recipie I just found on our trusty recipe thread

katyk, I've made the one off our recipe thread and it was lovely - i used a bit of vlf ff or yoghurt something to loosen it up a bit. I love hummus too.

granny, the white bean mash will go with pretty much anything i think, so a grilled chicken breast would be lovely. Not sure if you could get the chicken thin enough to do the flash fry and lemon juicey bit though.

    hi,
i did write a lengthy post that got lost. I hate internet explorer sometimes! should go back to opera or something.

Anyway, Grannywise, are you a head or something? i used to love how teachers acted completely differently when they were observed. My lecturer when she was observed - well cor blimey she was good! i got so much information that day but sadly, any other time it was the complete opposite! Lovelly woman though.

Also to the person who suggested wikipedia (forgotten now!) i cant use it :( i normally use it to get a vague idea but i cant use it as a source because the sources within wikipedia are unreliable due to any tom !!!!!! or harry being able to write on it.

Does anyone find that this time of the day is really horrible for food wise? I hate waiting till 6 for dinner if ive had an early lunch. I havent done any steps today, but i was doing random exersise and i was running about my living room which did wear me out! Hopefully a little bit was burned.

Like a few others here  I also want to make 2008 the year I lose the flab whilst saving cash!

So I thought I'd join in with like minded individuals who want to lose 1lb a week - that's 52lbs a year, or 3 stone, 10lbs!!

    Virtual chocolate welcome!

    Eph x

  • When you put it like that, it sounds so easy as a pound is nothing at all really, it's the doing it that is the problem. I am going to try my best to lose some this year but not in a new years resolution kinda way, just for my own satisfaction. I did manage to lose half a stone before Christmas but I dare that has gone back on by now, but at least it is not more than I was before I lost it. Good luck to all, let's all be succesful.

...One bite at a time (and easy on the ketchup)

Hee hee Inforabargain, yes, the bit I lost before Christmas has probably gone back on but it was fun while it lasted. :D

Good luck to you too, I'm just easing into it this year as still have lots of Christmas goodies around to finish off. You know how it is, and as a MoneySaver this year I'm not going to chuck it out

All the best and have fun!
