Thanks for the explanation FFMonkey - I didn't know that.
So, jojiluc (welcome back:D ), Gpuk and QT2006, do you want to join our monthly 5 lb challenge?(see post 1 and post 488 for up to date ino on this) First weigh in is tomorrow by 6ish. I need your total loss so far if you've already lost some, or I'll start you from zero. Then weigh in once a week and post on the forum and it'll be added to the chart each wednesday.
It's a great way to get involved in the forum and to help your motivation: nice small targets to reach that gradually add up.:jI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I've a gain to report this week (well, there's a surprise!
)2.5 lbs on and so a total loss of 23.5. It wasn't Christmas, it was Paris but now I'm finding it hard to get back into the healthy eating pattern.
Day one, day one, day one .......
Thank you B Belle for looking after the chart.0 -
Happy new Year!!
Sorry I have been awol again but I was enjoying myself in wales to much :-)
Had a brilliant christmas and didn't worry about the chocs. I generally find I eat more when I stress about my weight than if i just say " I'm enjoying xmas so". It was so nice to see all the family and I just chilled out. final day off today so trying to get the house in order.
Suffered from a hangover yesterday but it was well worth it for the time I had and I even managed to offload most of the goodies my mum sent me back with as I took them (and left them) at the party, so that was a whole box of quality streets and lots of crisp nibble gone without a single twinge of remorse.
I have the gym scheduled for tonight so It's looking like a good start to the new year...
Top tip: I'm following vic lead and trying to drink more lemon water but I don't drink enough of it (short attention span and hate to see lemons going off so I slice them and freeze them...
Oh...does anyone like the idea of re-using the bag's for life from supermarkets but always forgets them when they go? .... I've found that if I keep the recycling in them (like the plastic milk bottle our council doesn't collect yet) then when we go to the supermarket and put it in the bins we are left wth the bags..hardly a stroke of genius...I guess just keeping them in the car would ahve the same effect!0 -
Morning all and Happy New Year again. Welcome to all the newbies and the restarters.
Brighton Belle: I have a 2lb loss to report today (actually it might be more as I am wearing heavier clothes that I normally wear on weigh day!!!!!:rotfl: ). Total loss 96.5 lbs. I have 10 days to go before we go to Australia and I am 1.5 lbs off a 7 stone loss and 3.5 lbs off a 100 lb loss. I really want to achieve at least one of those targets - wish me luck!0 -
I did want to say something to all the newbies and hope I don't sound patronising. I started trying to lose weight on 8th January 2007 after finally having enough of being so big and struggling to find any clothes to fit me that looked reasonable. 51 weeks later (!), I have lost close to 7 stone in weight and I am near my target. I just wanted to say that if I can achieve it, perhaps you can too and even if it looks like there is a huge mountain to climb, if you take it week by week, you will get there. I am sure others will agree (particularly Starlight_xx who had lost over 9 stone in the same time scale I think) and other maintainers who are at goal after a long slog of losing their weight. Good luck everyone.0

Morning all,
Efrieze - I don't find it patronising, but just so inspiring that you and people like Victory have lost so much in such a short space of time - it gives me so much hope that I can do it this year.
Stuck to the food part of Core yesterday - but had a couple of largish glasses of wine in the evening - it was New Year's Day!!! However I slept reallly badly last night - was awake for 2 hours from 4-6, so I was suitably punished. Shall stick to squash tonight - I love the Robinsons Sugar free Peach and Barley. Dh has announced we're going to the gym later - the kids go swimming at the same time - it's great now ds2 is 8 and allowed to swim by himself.
I can't decide if I'm pleased or not that there's no weigh in tomorrow (not till the 10th) - but it does give me more time to be back on the straight and narrow. Good luck everyone else with the weigh in.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Dear lovely peeps :j : I posted this a few days ago, in case any of you have been away and haven't read it...
ATTENTION:
INFO FOR THIS WEDNESDAY’S CHART. PLEASE READ
Peeps, I’m right poorly and need your help to do the chart this week. I asked delly to take it over for me and she so kindly said she would, but then I read what a rough time she’s having and don’t want to load it on her!
I’ve been virtually paralysed by this rampant arthritis, but am back to being able to sit up in a chair so doing the chart will be fine if you could all help as follows: below is a copy of everyone’s ‘total weight loss so far’ as recorded in the last chart (I amended a few errors, and I also realise I have accidentally missed off our wonderful maintainers from this copy ! Sorry guys – you will appear on wed). So, to save me trawling through the last 2 weeks of posts to work out who has lost what and when, could you all re-post between NOW and wed 6pm you weight loss (gains:o ?) since the last chart on 19th Dec and confirm what this brings your total weight loss to now, so I can ensure everything is as accurate as possible for the 1st chart of the new year.
I may have missed off a few new names from the chart – If you want to be included and are not listed, just post on the forum between now and wed 6pm. I will assume you are starting from zero loss unless you say otherwise. And anyone else like kpc who wants to start again, just let me now I will zero your totals as well.
Any newbies who don’t know what I am talking about can I refer you to the 1st post on this forum – If you still have questions, do post, and hopefully you other helpful peeps will answer any questions.
Hope this all makes sense – looking forward to those numbers flooding in
Lots of love
bb
PS MAINTAINERS: AT 19TH DEC I HAVE YOUAS: Pet - 56.6: missyg -36: suggs: -160: victory -78.5
NEWBIES - I HAVE ALL YOUR NAMES TO ADD ON FOR TONIGHT TOOI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
welcome to the newbies and returners:D well done the loosers:j :j I am getting weighed again today, yes I know it is naughty two days later but seen as it was TOTM hoping for a little loss so that xmas was not so bad, all foods have now leftthe building and hot lemon is the only drink I am drinking, slept better last night with not such high numbers and had less night sweats:rotfl: so it is true what you put in the inside shows on the outside:rotfl: :rotfl:
Well done on loosing 7 stone, now that is a marvellous achievement:j :j :j
I am so hoping not to gain it again, my H says oh well we will buy you some bigger clothes but I do not see it that way, I am off to WHsmith this morning to get some more diet books:D and some summer clothes for DS , something to aim for that is always the best way to stay motivated, there is no way I would want all my clothes to not fit or my new bikini:D
If anyone on here cannot find the motivation after xmas and can't get back to day one, this is what I did, I went upstairs and tried on my black trousers I kept from when I started on Jan 4th and walked around the house with them on to show me and the family that this was the weight I was and would not like to be like that again, put a mantra on the kitchen wall to keep me focused, put up my boot scales weight ticket so I can see it while I am handling food, put all the WW products on show in the fridge, cupboards, freezer, can see the WW recipe books, bought in copious amount of fruit/veg/low fat/low cal stuff, made up the sugar free jelly, got some 0% greek fat yog, fromage frais, have started watching x weighted, fat fighters and all shows like that on the tele again, think about my summer hol to keep on track, think about my mother saying 'oh see knew you would put it back on again':rotfl: :rotfl: get rid of all xmas stock, give it away, throw it away, give it to the kids, just get rid of it.0 -
Erieze, that's a stunning result - well done you. I'm sure you can get 1.5 lbs o in 10 days.
Well, I've weighed myself and I've lost 3lbs in the last 2 weeks. Don't congratulate me however as this hasn't been through dicipline and hard work! With my jaw seized shut by the arthritis , it's been very difficult to eat! I'm just relieved it isn't more , as losing weight too quickly is very conterproductive in the end and it'll only go back on + more when I am better. I am not a candidate for slimmer of the fortnight.
Look forward to getting the rest of the WI results todayI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
