Thanks so much Beanie - not patronising at all, that's exactly what I thought which is why I have extra inspiration. It's just a shame that I'll have to miss my family Christmas next year to spend it with the Dementor :D Still, imagine how far I'll be able to walk in 2 years' time! Hope you had a great Christmas.

  • Evening peeps, just a quickie to check in with you all.
sounds like lots of you have had lovely Xmases and some marvellous weight losses being reported. - Dragon I was chuffed for you as I know how hard it is with your meds.
I had a lovely 2 days with all my family. Had soup for Xmas dinner and managed to suck the cream/lick the choc off quite a few mini profiteroles :D
crashed today: have literally barely been able to move all day, joints so bad but finally picking up now. Consultant rang today worried about me and wants to see me tomorrow. I've had a few weepses from feeling so rough but generally morale pretty good. Tomorrow's another day etc etc.
Happy travels to Brighton, bails. Don't forget to let me know if you need rescuing - very happy to be an emergency you just have to go out for :rotfl:

  • I'm feeling a bit lethargic too, I put it down to the fact that all the excitement has subsided combined with not having eaten quite so healthily as compared to the rest of the year. However I had to walk up to the shops as MrP has a very serious bout  of 'man flu' ;), for some cough linctus and I must admit that the blustery, windy walk perked me up no end :j ...

...Bails What an awful end to your Boxing Day, but well done for taking a positive from it :j. I hope your stay in Brighton peps you up...

...Brighton belle I hope that your visit to the Consultant today gives you some relief from that awful pain, poor you; but what a fabulous Consultant to phone you!! :jYou must be made of pretty strong stuff to keep your morale good...

...Beanielou I'm shocked to see that you know such language :rotfl: :rotfl:...

...Although I haven't done too bad food wise, I feel quite padded now around my hips. When I got undressed last night I swear I could see the panniers starting to form on my pelvis  . Can fat form that fast or am I just unfortunate to have fast acting fat :rolleyes2 ? I must admit that I'm not looking forward to getting on the scales on Monday and think that I may give it a miss, but then I think that would be an act of cowardice especially when all of you are so brave to do so. I'm torn between the horrors of the scales and being forever known as the coward of the thread :o. Just musing more than anything...

Petrichor - I can pretty much tell if I've put on even half a pound, I can just FEEL it going on. I'm one of the "sneak a peek at the scales every day" brigade and I'll always know if it's up or down on the day before.

I've eaten well this week, it's been good stuff and not junk - however it's more than I would usually eat, plus I've done virtually no exercise, so I know I've got to concentrate on my calorie counting until Monday's weigh in now (and get back in the gym!)

Don't give the scales a miss Pet, if you have gained a bit you won't be the only one and we're all here to help get it straight back off the following week!
  • Thanks missyg you're an angel and have made me feel a lot less concerned about it:j. It's reassuring to know that other people here have the same feelings. I may take a sneaky peek at the scales tomorrow, it will help me focus as necessary, but if not, then I will definitely do so on Monday. The silly thing is, I have plenty of 'buffer zone' to play with, but that's just me at the moment :o .

    Hi Petrichor

I must confess that I am an obsessive when it comes to weighing myself. I do weigh myself daily and if I creep up a lb I stay more focussed the following day.

Because of my 'rather too frequent' weighing, I know that taking a bath adds a lb - I guess you 'soak up' some water, I lose 1-2 lb overnight, and the TOTM also affects my weight - water retention p'raps?

I don't think I could miss a whole week without weighing - that would take too much will-power.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

    Hi all
Went for the weigh-in yesterday and found that I have put on 3lb. Had a complete blow-out on Chrimbo day and so was half-expecting it. And so, back to being super-focussed. Can't wait until all the rubbish food is out of the house to get rid of the temptation. And so, I need to have an extra good week this week. Need to get rid of this 3lb (preferably by next weigh-in).
Have got an elliptical trainer off freecycle, and so aim to do 10 min on that each day, to start with at least! Also, been swimming and done 20 lengths first thing this morning - doing the same tomorrow as well. And then a 4 mile walk planned in for New Years Day.
    Hope everyone is well.
