By the way, FB is just cos I can't be a**ed typing Facebook... Rest up girl, sorry your night wasn't a success, I hate being trapped out when I can't handle any more :grouphug:

  • Hi all,

I thought this year I'd start as the pounds have crept on and now I have lots of pounds to lose:rotfl:

This recipe for Chocolate brownies is delicious and I got it from the weight watchers website, I have changed it a bit :T

    · 50 g Green & Black Organic 70% Dark Chocolate, (1¾oz) broken in squares
    · 75 g polyunsaturated margarine, (2¾oz)
    · 100 g light brown sugar, (3½oz), or light muscovado
    · 50 g caster sugar, (1¾oz)
    · 2 portion egg white, or 1 sachet egg white powder
    · 2 tablespoon apple sauce, sweetened
    · 50 g flour, (1¾oz), plain
    · 1 heaped teaspoon cocoa powder
    · 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 small apple pealed and chopped
    · 1 tablespoon light brown sugar 8 stoned dates chopped
    ·
    · Preheat oven to Gas Mark 4/180ºC/160ºC fan/350ºF. Line a 18cm/7in square cake tin with baking parchment.
    · Melt chocolate in a double pan or small heatproof bowl set over a larger saucepan of simmering water.
    · In a large mixing bowl use an electric whisk to beat together margarine and both sugars until blended and smooth. Add egg whites or powder and applesauce and mix well. Gradually add melted chocolate and mix well.
    · Sift together flour, cocoa and baking powder. Gradually add flour mixture and mix well. Add 1-2 tbsp of water if the mixture is too stiff, it should have a soft dropping consistency. Fold in apple and dates.
    · Pour mixture into prepared tin. Bake 25 minutes.
    · Meanwhile, place sugar in a small pan, add 1 tbsp water and heat to dissolve and thicken to a syrup. Remove cake from oven and drizzle sugar syrup over top. Bake until a skewer inserted near the center comes out clean, about 10 more minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack before cutting into 12 squares.

Ooops yes Bails, Suggs, I should have added that I was in NO WAY suggesting anyone should attempt what I was doing, or even half of it. It was a big mistake.

The regulars on here are aware of what happened, but I'll summarise as it might help someone new.

My weight loss had slowed right down, and all I could think of at the time was "I can't be doing enough exercise/I must be eating too much." So I worked out more and ate less, and this went on and on for several weeks until I got to the stage (with the help of the straight-talking peeps on here ;)) where I realised this could NOT be right.

So six weeks ago I changed my routines, and then the weight started coming off 50% quicker, and my main exercise is down to a far more manageable 2-5 hours a week depending how I feel.

Lesson learnt. Sorry Suggs, the 'over the knee' will have to wait ;)

My highest grade this year has been a 56. But hey, at least I'm consistent - the lowest was 54 lol.

were about the same then! Trouble is most people in my class get higher than me, so im in the lower end of the scale.

Im proud of those grades, because that was all on the EU, which i know balls all about (even now!)

    Have you got exams soon?

OOh Ajax says we can talk about Radleys

Did I tell u all I got a grey Radley scarf for Chrismas & a bubbles coin purse to replace the 'lost' one?
And I got a Radley passport cover, a Radley keyring and a Radley umbrella. Only trouble is I don't have a bag any more as it completely disintegrated.
Shold always always try a bra on and look at your profile view. Youre breasts should sit between youre elbow and your shoulder with a bra on. If they dont then you need a different bra.
or in my case different breasts.

you see this is where my bra fitting skills fall at the first hurdle. No one wants a 21 year old telling them they have saggy boobs, but sadly most do. I wouldnt want some size 8 person telling me, "well youre really fat here bla bla" So it never passes my lips! I just give the balls line about where your breasts carry the most weight and hope they read between the lines.

I just hope i end up with boobs like my mothers! shes got a good set on her for someone whos 60 odd.

missyg ,suggs , I health wise cannot do what you two lovely people do, I can't do gym and commit to it, some days I can barely crawl out of bed with the arthritis and flare ups so my total commitment to me is cut down on the food, portions kept low, more 0 points than points, plenty of hot lemon, no sugar whatsoever of any kind, craving or otherwise;) no pastry,no crisps, no biscuits, nothing of nothing really:rotfl: if my feet are playing the game then I walk/cycle all day every day until they pack up again and I cannot do it, I know what I eat is good for me, the numbers for the diabetes have come down now the xmas larking about has finished:D I have 2 blood tests a month and my folic acid, kidneys, liver, annual blood sugars readings, blood pressure, salt tolerance, cholestrol level, thyroids, all of that is normal. They test me for everything and it always comes back normal.:D

I know this diet or healthy eating plan is unlike the silly ones like cabbage soup diets I have been on :rotfl: :rotfl: my docs are all very pleased with me, internally I feel so much better and externally it shows with a lot more energy and get up and go rather than slouch and give up on myself.:D

I have been there with the silly ones, only eat melon, only eat 800 cals a day, only eat fish, only soup, only this and that cut it all out, it ends up driving you insane and you go straight back to the bad habits and over eating through sheer desperation:rolleyes: I have stopped those daft ones and concentrate on what I am doing now but like last week I can severely go over the top cutting down etc to get the end result I wanted which was xmas loss gone and it worked, this week is not so boot campish in this house, hey I am even thinking of having a roast on the weekend and maybe just maybe a walnut whip that were half price in Iceland:rotfl: :rotfl:

Victory, I was having a convo with my Mum about diets last night. She has tried lots of silly ones in the past but always goes back to WW. It has to be something with the flexibility to be able to enjoy the foods you like.

Now that I've got things under control with the calories, I'm even allowing myself crisps again (one packet - the baked kind) as a snack. Last evening I had a lemon curd tart, first cakey type thing in 8 months (not that much of a cake person, I just fancied it)! All within my day's allowance.

Vix - haha now I know what the Debenhams lady meant when she said I had "lost some of my fullness" :rotfl:
