Ajax and Serendisglair Got it now, I have. Thank you, I do. Hhhhmmmmmm.
:rotfl:You have entirely redeemed yourself GN, brilliant! :T

Ajax, Men's Health is not the giveaway you might think in my world, as I used to read it too! As for Ronaldo (the player not the lovely new person on here), he may well be a great player but it is possible to be great and not so god damn arrogant! I HATE ARROGANCE. [rant over - you got off lightly, trust me :D]

rofling at Granny - i love your little comments they always make me laugh! Ajax i choked over your last post - but i should think that suggs will get it too -isn't 'four fingers' one of the punchlines to a particularly appalling rugby song? Well, i'm assuming it's a rugby song, it may have started lifeas a napoleonic or ww2 one cos they are all quite 'strong'. The whole story of the song is that the singer used to work in a shop but doesn't anymore because every time a lady came to the shop she went away with something that wasn't quite what she asked for - so she wanted a kit kat and got . . . . yep you guessed it! She also struggled getting a chicken too.

I have to own up and admit, I dont know this song  as a rugby player I would hang my head shame, but when at Skegness for the vets tournanment last October, they didnt know some of our songs and likewise we didnt know some of theirs, makes for a better evening methinks.

kitkat as a punchline?? What the difference between a kitkat and (enter name of any female celeb you don't like) ;)

Dragon, I'm a bit confused: on wed 2nd you posted that you 'were up 1.5lbs'. I took this to mean you had put on 1.5lbs over the 2week xmas period and therefore entered that as your 2nd Jan w.i. Therefore this week's brilliant loss of 3.5-1.5 = 2lb loss for Jan so far.Perhaps in your head, the 1.5lb gain was Dec and you then mentally started again for Jan. Which is absolutely fine, but yous dinda say that was what you wanted. Sorry the overall total was wriong - must be an errot going back to Dec: this has been corrected - fantastic overall loss of 31lb. Getting there eh!:T Let me know if I am right about what you want or the Jan figures.

Ah yes I did think this was the first week on Jan and losing 3.5 (still can't believe it :rotfl:) so can I have overall 31 pounds :j, Jan 3.5, 1.5 left.

Thanks for doing this BB - better than I could ever do! Have a :coffee: to help you through the day!

When I had my own version of Victory's bootcamp last year, I'd cycle the 6 miles to the gym - do cardio equipment, a class, and swimming and cycle 6 miles back... did it 8 days out of 10 at one point. (And did I lose as much as Victory? NO..... *jealous*)
And you know why that is don't you Missy? NOT ENOUGH FUEL! This may sound harsh but I know Missy can handle straight talking :D That amount of exercise requires a LOT of energy - my typical day used to be: cycle (race) 14 miles to work, PE with the kids (active involvement), run after work, cycle (race) 12 miles back, a 2 hour paddle then couple of miles cycle home. Sometimes I went to the gym as well, but the key is, I was eating LOADS (and training for a triathlon). It's really important to remember that everything we're trying to do here isn't just about 'calories in/calories out' deficit and looking good - our bodies have very complex needs and if they are not met, the consequences can be disastrous. I'm not trying to scare anyone away from exercise, it has so many great benefits for you, I'm just trying to show that it's not simply about aesthetics. I thought I was well up on nutrition etc for my lifestyle but I paid the price; I would HATE the same to happen to any of you. Please love your body, you only get one.

I have a mini rant to make today... Why do all gyms have to be so far away from town centres, and off bus routes?! Ok, so maybe it's not all of them, but round here it's absolutely useless! When I was working, I'd happily go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week after work, but I have to admit, I do kinda object to walking the 1.5-2 miles to get there, then work out, then walk home again... Especially when it's chucking it down outside! Guess I'll probably end up leaving it til I'm home for the summer, it'll give me more excuses to be out of the house!

I argee with missy, no chance of cycling or at least doing a good walk two r three times a week?

With regards to the sweet cravings, isnt fruit sweet? I know its not chocolate, but its a start, I had a mad sweet tooth earlier this week, (still have) but I try to temper it with dried fruit. or if all else fails, my old friend 'Cadburys Freddo' comes to play :) shame it doesn't come as a dark chocolate flavour though.

And you wonder why ?? your as bad as me :) anymore talk like that and over my knee you go :)

btw the way I have now added jogging to my routine so a typical gym session is
    13mins Cycle
    14mins Cross Trainer
14mins Jog on the dreaded treadmill
    average calorie burn 790-810

Today I managed for the first time since starting the jogging last week - 1.5 miles in the 14mins, which maynot be good by some standards, but to me it meant alot :D

Guess who went to hospital to get his poorly ligament torn finger checked out and went on the wrong day??? Give you hint, guess where Im going tomorrow :rotfl:

Still cant play rugby, as its the hand I use for binding as a tight head

  • Hi bails - furious about the 'charity status' restrictions. Don't the gov't realise that those off sick and on benefits are weeping with frustration to get back to work, earn their own living and have a fulfilling role in society.
They make it so difficult.Grrrrrr. I have no up to date experience to help you I'm afraid. I had to let 2 rooms (in a 2bed hse) and make my bedroom a bedsit to have enough income to manage the leap to working a few hrs , very gradually building up my hrs as I had to come off benefits to do so. They just don't understand the nature of illness and that recovery isn't linear and the need to beable to cut back during a bad sppell is vital to long term recovery

*UPDATE - I had a snickers :o...It was darn nice.....I'm not even feeling guilty about it.....I am scared of the bitey boot....
You'll get no bitey boot from me Serendis - if you really want some chocolate then great, have it. The fact that you feel you crave chocolate a lot is interesting though - why do you think this is? Is it psychological ie because you feel you're not allowed it, or perhaps a physical response ie you need some energy because your sugar levels are crashing, and chocolate provides a great instant pick-me-up (and then sadly an even bigger crash shortly afterwards ), or an emotional response? etc. I allow myself ANYTHING - this may sound v scary to lots of you, and it took me a long time to fully get here but the key is to stop giving the food 'power' over you through denial. When you truly allow yourself anything, you very rarely want the things you've been craving all those years. I PROMISE.
