Many thanks Tafrock, it was just a few pence from my calculations using the price cap amounts from another thread on here as suggested but good to have the exact values. On my usage it would work out £1116.91 but the 2 year fix I went in January is £1072.47. If I worked on the basis of the usage for an 'average house' as quoted everywhere then that would be £1967.12 and my fix rate would work out £2027.44I think my fix was more beneficial for lower usage as the unit rates are higher.Just to add that Shell in my case at least managed to reclaim my credit balance ok from Green and my direct debit payment to Green from December as well then cancelled the direct debit in January and issued my final bill quite quickly after the switch and took their final payment by their new direct debit in the middle of February so can't complain really about how they handled the switch. To be honest they did a better job that Octopus did who are always boasting about their amazing customer service (wasn't in my case).1

@martyp good to hear your good experience with shell. Unfortunately I do not share such enthusiasm for them. I lodged an official complaint this morning. Can't believe they still don't recognise my electric meter but more infuriating is the failure to remove the ridiculous overbill from my account. My credit went across ok though0

Hope you get it sorted Tafrock. I must admit that their communication wasn't the best following the SOLR process from Green. It took a while to get there. I don't feel that bad really leaving them as the bills were a bit confusing and overlapped due to some mistakes with the readings. Might be out the frying pan into the fire potentially as I was with my new supplier when I first moved into my house and ended up going through a seemingly neverending complaints process with disastrous customer service and getting an ofgem resolution in the end including compensation and a personal visit from an area manager.
Hoping they've improved but it was purely for financial reasons that I made the change and willing to potentially deal with issues again but so far it's been ok...0 -

I'm glad to hear others have got their Green credit. I was happy enough with Shell's first bill except for the lack of my Green credit. I emailed them but haven't heard anything since. Perhaps I should have another look?

I left my DD running with Green having been assured everything would be ok. It probably will be eventually but it's taking a long time to sort out. First bill from Shell was the end of December, so approx 3 months usage. Credit balance from Green was on there so that was good. However there were no DD payments showing to Green. The Shell website said these would be shown on the January bill but they weren't, by this time the DD's equated to four payments of just over £80 a month. Now two of these payments have been credited (one end of Jan, one mid Feb) but the other two are still missing and all Shell can tell me is they will come though in due course. That's not exactly filling me with confidence!0

@thevideoguy @martyp I logged onto my account this afternoon and lo and behold my electricity meter has now been recognised . This followed a Facebook message from Charlotte saying a revised bill would be produced within 3 working days. All of this happened following my lodging of an official complaint. Could be coincidence but I have been asking for months for this to be sorted to no avail. One complaint and I get a result0

Great to hear, sounds like they got there in the end, albeit needing a bit of a kick0

@martyp it all depends who You speak to doesn't it. I've been speaking consistently to a csr called duz recently. He's been wonderful. I've had my new bill this morning. Electricity spot on. Old invalid bill from December recredited to my account along with all other payments from myself and transfers from green. Just one problem
They have rebilled for the removed gas meter once again. An overcharge of £502. I have of course pointed this out and duz has passed on the information . Apparantly it will take a few weeks as it requires external industry updates. I asked why this wasn't done back in December when I was given a back office reference regarding the same matter and was told they rejected the request due to the ongoing migration of solr data and the possibility of the meters automatically updating during the migration.. Sadly no one passed that info on to me . But duz seems to know his stuff and is very quick to respond so I'm confident we are getting there eventually1
