Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

Despite my earlier optimism, my account with Shell is clearly a dummy account and is no way linked to my previous account with Green. Words fail me to describe Shell. I am done trying to sort this out!0

I was initially optimistic about Shell but was starting to doubt their competence. However, now I'm in possession of a bill, I think the main problem is lack of information from Green.

Well my transfer went through ok but shell still have not updated my electricity meter on their system. Green installed new smart gas and electric meters 3 weeks before going bust. Shell recognise the gas meter but not the electricity meter even though it was showing up on greens meter reading portal with its smart readings. It's been updated on the national database they say but not their system. Just why is it taking so long . In the meantime even though I'm giving actual readings they aren't accepted for billing as the meter isn't on their system. I've had one totally incorrect bill on December 12. Nothing since and my account is showing a debt of over 300 pounds due to incorrect billing. Incompetence0

Similar with mine, but it's my gas meter they don't recognise. Had a Shell appointed engineer round weeks ago to replace the meter. I know it works because the Bright app (https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/bright/id1369989022) is picking up all 30 minute readings from both meters across the national meter network. Shell say my Gas meter is no longer transmitting 🤔Tafrock said:... @thevideoguy use this site
to see if your meter is transmitting. https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk/
Mine is. It's just shell fobbing us off with excuses. My only bill from them was December. Totally wrong. Incorrect electricity meter and billed for both correct gas meter and old removed gas meter. I told them to reverse the charges as my account showed an incorrect deficit of over 740 quid. They haven't and I've not had a bill since and they keep fobbing me off . The charges on this bill for meter 0030352 are invalid . That meter was skipped 3 weeks before green went bust0 -
@Tafrock thanks. I know my meter is working. Bright and the URL you provided confirmed that. It’s Shell saying they can’t connect and my meter has a problem. It’s totally bizarre.1

Hi all, I was on the Flexible 6 with Shell after going over from Green but have switched supplier. I was just curious to find out how much the rates would be now. From reading on here people have been moved on to Flexible 7?0

The new rates will match the price cap for where you live.martyp said:Hi all, I was on the Flexible 6 with Shell after going over from Green but have switched supplier. I was just curious to find out how much the rates would be now. From reading on here people have been moved on to Flexible 7?0 -
Hi ultrasonic,
I found when I did the calculations for the standing charges and unit rates that my cost was considerably less than the "average use" they quote and noted in the amounts posted that they seem to be a little under the price cap amount. If it's possible to get the unit rates and standing charges specifically for my region for Shell (14 Midlands) it would be good to do a personal calculation.0 -
I was referring to the cap unit prices and standing charges, not the total bill that these result in for the assumed 'typical' user.martyp said:Hi ultrasonic,

See the following helpful post from @QrizB for the numbers:

Edit: note that these cap prices are likely to rise again significantly in October.
