Awaiting my Credit Cheque from Shell for balance from Green. Moved to Avro the day Green and Avro folded so never been a Shell customer.

Cheque requested by Facebook 9 days ago. Today my Green account only gives me access to my Bills.

Should I see this as a positive sign or are others old Green Accounts only showing Bills?
Cheque dated 23rd December received today for the correct oustanding amount.

Thanks to banking app its been deposited to my account without leaving home.

I had my first bill from shell which was eye watering, it has doubled from the fixed price deal I was on until the summer.

They've asked me several times to increase my direct debit but the options they provide are too high.

If I use the same amount of energy as last year I'd spend £1,810 but the minimum they will put the direct debit to works out as £2,100 a year.

Is it better to let things bed in a bit in the hope they get more accurate with their suggestion?

Why not send them an email containing your calculations showing your annual projected cost on the tariff you're on and then suggest the DD is set to 1/12 of that figure?

I had the same. They appear to be taking usage for Oct, Nov, and Dec as the baseline for the annual DD amount which is significantly overstated as not accounting for lower usage in the summer. However, if the prices are rising in April, as predicted, the amount they estimate is probably not that far out.

What's your current balance? If you owe them money now, they'll be including that on top of the annual amount.

For me, I'm currently in credit my suggested DD has dropped to well under my actual usage in order to aim for a £0 balance at the end of 12 months from now.

I've just downloaded the app and it seems to be showing my usage for end Sept, Oct, Nov and part of December as Decembers usage only. I am now wondering if that means their calculation has gone wrong.
