Well this is what they told me last week on chat:
They shouldn't demand payment for my £188 bill as they have my £231 credit from Green and also my £45 direct debit to Green that went out 5 days ago which they told me to leave alone0 -

Hi all, fellow Green to Shell sufferer here. As others have experienced, I kept on paying my DD to green, I have my final bill and screenshots of the portal showing a credit balance with them. I now also have a £495 bill from Shell Energy with no credit from Green energy applied - surprise surprise the whole process has crashed and burned....
So I either pay Shell money that I've already paid to Green, or I risk defaulting on the bill to Shell? has anyone found another avenue / route? I've disputed the bill with Shell, who's customer services were next to useless, so I don't hold out much hope there.
So much for the Ofgem supplier of last resort guarantees eh... typical.0 -
Must say that this SOLR swap worked typical very well for me .Green produced final bill .Shell produced first bill all correct yesterday .Credit couple of quid due from Green account is all .0

Whoopee Dee just found my bill on my Shell account. All seems fine. The readings tally within a few kw to mine and they have taken off the credit amount I had with Green. The amount I owe them is much less than I thought it would be. Hate to say it but I think Shell seems a lot more efficient than Green did. I hope my faith in them holds and I don’t get a nasty shock later.
I don’t know if it’s just people who were leaving Green who are having problems, I was quite happy to stay with them and be transferred to Shell when they collapsed. Whether I’ll stay when this crisis is resolved I don’t know, time will tell.2 -
@Granniesue69 Yes! I was just about to reply to you when I saw your post. FWIW I was about to say that if Shell could not transmit the bill to you via THAT digital channel, it is up to them to try another channel, such as email, or failing that, by post. Until it is delivered.0

My a/c is up and running
with credit from Green showing and readings are very close to mine, taken at the time of them folding.
Even my gas & elec smart meter readings, and graphs, are working - something Green never managed while I was with them. They've even suggested that I reduce my DD, although I think I'll wait and see how the winter weather pans out, before I do that..
So it's taken a while, but it's a thumbs up for Shell from me1
