Calling14 said:Aww ditty that is shameful. Surely is this day and age healthy food should be norm for hospitals, care homes!
i've had a long day. I have to go into the office twice a week so decided I'd make today one of those days. My clock radio went off at 6.15am and i didn't believe it was morning as it was still dark!! Work was fine; managed to finish a long task i've been doing and had a nice catch up with some colleagues. Decided to trawl the CSs at lunch to see if i could find my next Book Group read - success in the first one i went into! Was tempted by decorations for that end of year event we don't talk about but resisted! Got home in time to do exercise class on Fb then went to t0sco as almost run out of cat food - the big boxes were out of stock and the 12 pack boxes have gone up 31p since i last bought them (not very long ago). Also filled up with petrol as was on the amber warning light. Also sent DD2 money for gym membership.
Gratitudes - finding the book i wanted in the CS; colleague gave me a birthday card (bit early but nice of him to remember!); nice texts from DDs

Morning Turtles,
Yesterday I was very physically tired. I went to yoga, having walked 16 miles over the weekend. Given that I have been virtually physically inert for nearly two months, it's not surprising. I did start clearing out the living room. Bit of an Autumn clean! I really could do with a new rug in there but it's not on the priority list right now.
NSD number 4 - nit sure I will meet my low target of 12 this month, what with my holiday. But maybe.
Gratitudes:
- feeling physically tired because of moving my body, rather than stored from zoom doom and stress
- Dry day to air the living room rug
- Catching up on Strictly - John and Johannes - Paso❤️3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0

Good morning guys
I forgot to check in yesterday but have another NSD to add. Only 2 but better than none.
Today is a spendy day but that’s my weekly shop. I shouldn’t need a shop next week so that money will go off the credit card.
I’m grateful for it not being cold enough to need the heating yet, for a day off and for OH having plenty of work at the moment ( he’s a temp so no work no money)
Anywaytime to get on. Have a good day guys.

Afternoon turtles, forgot to check in yesterday but had a few small spends on shampoo, dishwasher tablets and a few bits for the rabbits. Today has been a NSD though.
Feeling very unmotivated at the moment and struggling to get out of this funk. I have enough work at my new job for maybe one day of the week, I know that probably sounds amazing but it's just not my cup of tea. I feel pretty disheartened as management told me before I started how much they were looking forward to me starting because of my experience and I was under the impression it was a step up professionally but it's not working out that way and it's affecting my mood, I can tell. I'll stick with it until the end of the year I think and then look at my options if I still feel the same.
Anyway, enough doom and gloom. Went for a nice walk this morning and a swim at lunchtime so it's not all bad!6 -
I have spent nearly the whole day scrubbering. So utterly boring!! but shiny and clean now. My hands hurt, and even DS3 (totally oblivious to most things) walked into the kitchen and said 'Wow! what happened in here??'. Must be good if he noticed something as dull as kitchen scrubbing.Spent on some cupcakes and chocolates for DS1s birthday - will wrap and post tomorrow. Some lunchbox tat, and some g/f d/f stuff for m-i-l.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm back, with a shiny new 2nd hand laptop. Looked last week but the two cheapest were both > £200 so had to take a few days to adjust to that. managed to get the old one to stay on long enough to put a food order in (being delivered tomorrow) but had two days of it never staying on more than 5 minutes so had to bite the bullet.
Completed mum's tax return this morning (mostly done on Saturday - some papers gone awol so had to reconstruct from mum's bank account, then go back in to sort out gift aid), so wanted to post that off.
Called for a taxi (15 - 20 minute wait, been much longer than that recently). dropped off by the library to return all 12 library books. Used the machine to return them, then had a sit down in one of the bays. Was going to go across the road with the tax return, then go back to the library for more books but decided I might as well get the books and then continue straight on after the postbox. Picked 7 books, took them to the machine for self-checkout. put them on the floor by the machine and told a nearby assistant that I was going to get a chair.
She followed me (I was waiting for 2 people to stop talking so that I could get to the chairs), told me to sit on one of the chairs and she would bring my books and check them out for me (I was breathing heavily by this time, despite sitting down between selecting books). Rested a while before continuing. Crossed the square and walked to the postbox - only one collection which had already happened so carried on up to the general. Stopped and sat on a bench by the Cenotaph for a while then went in a straight line past the post box and on to W's. More ibuprofen and a couple of bits, self checkout then sat on their nice indoor bench.
Only half a block to main pedestrianised shopping part and collapsed on the nearest bench. BHF shop is closing (nearly everything bagged and boxed already). Mum wanted cash but 2 people in the queue so went to the inside machines. Successful on second attempt (they keep defaulting to Welsh language) but struggling with breathing again. Assistant asked if I was alright. I said I'd sit down when I got outside but she directed me to the comfy seats in their waiting part. I had a bottle of water with me so drank some of that and decided to go for lunch (sitting down, indoors rather than a sandwich on a bench).
Bought the cheaper laptop (only by £20) but decided it will come from my present money so used mum's card (rather than paying with my card and having to make another trip to town to take money from mum's bank and pay it into mine). I have to do some money shuffling later to see what she owes me and deduct things for me bought in weekly shopping delivery.
Went in another couple of shops (very slowly with a lot of bench hopping), found a large print puzzle book but no 'laptops for idiots' books (library only had the fiction books out as half the library is being repainted). Bench hopped across the bus station just as the first tiny wave of teenagers arrived but got to the taxi office before the hordes. Projected half hour wait - no problem as long as I can sit down, I have a book.
My feet are swollen, lots of me hurts, no idea how much I'll be able to move tomorrow but the laptop is up and running (I have used these previously but been using a chrome book for the past 18 months) and I checked my list and everything got done (could have used more ibuprofen but have some).
Will do a more general post soon but first - gratitudes
books, libraries, helpful assistants, completing the tax return, easy food

mothernerd I am tired just reading what you have done. Make sure you take some time to rest.
Yesterday and today we’re both NSD’s I think that takes me to 7 or 8 for the month. Will need to check back tomorrow to be sure.
Just finished work and am going to have an early night as I didn’t sleep well last night.
Grateful today for Home made soup so dinner was really easy, good coffee and lots of it to help keep me going throughout the day, my hairdresser being very accommodating on appointment dates and times and the dogs deciding to settle down so I could work without interruptions from them. They usually want to join in the conversation when I’m on a conference call,That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"8 -
Staying on NSD 6.DS and I met up with my friend and her two DSs at the park today. It was a dull grey day, the park isn’t that great, and the kids got bored quickly so we didn’t stay long. After lunch, I took DS swimming (more like splashing) at the local pool. And this evening, OH, DS, and I went out for dinner.Grateful for quality time with DS and OH, for OH being a great bedtime story reader, and DS enjoying bedtime stories. It’s a special time of day we have that I know won’t last forever. 🥲NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7

Deni sorry about your sister, but they really don't spoil their residents w food in care homes, I haven't seen a salad or a brown piece of bread in there. Like your sister my ds is a good and passionate cook, and I foresee food processors etc entering my kitchen!
Well a long day not really home at all, but biked to work, cried a lot at work as people asked how ds1 is doing, biked home, ate dinner(3rd day dinner), went to see ds1, he is not that bad, he walked down and up stairs today, he was annoyed I am applying for univers4l cred1ts for him, so he is his stubborn old self, drove off in time to go swimming and did not stay in car.
And now i'm in bed.
And the other good news is that I got paid from my freelance work so I can pay the rest of my bills this month and top up car and fridge(a bit) and swish a bit into my housing saving.
Happy all around, and a lovely swimming lesson as well.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
