NST October 2021: Fit for Purpose

Morning turtles, I didn't post yesterday as I went out last night with some old work colleagues. Have to say they made a very convincing argument for coming back. I'm still in two minds but leaning more towards going back as being bored at work with no progression isn't for me and never has been. But we'll see.
Spent £9 on the train and £6 on drinks so didn't break the bank and was home by about 9.30 as it was all starting to get a bit loud for my liking!
Today I need to collect a prescription and just do some jobs around the house. Had a lie in and have also read a bit too. Going to treat today as a chilled out day, will fit in some yoga later but mostly just potter about. Am working the next three Saturdays so it's nice to have a chilled one.5 -
I've had a wash, taken my pills, I have a yoghurt and a spoon. life is good. yesterday I contacted the waste collection people by email. Could have a smallest size skip but that would involve a lot of work for me so would prefer the 2 men and a caged van option. They turn up, they move all the stuff and chuck it in their cage, fully licensed, recycle the vast majority of the stuff, aim to be in and out in ten minutes. I won't get rid of all the stuff but the bulk will be gone along with the massive trip hazard the concrete lumps represent.
Yesterday I was hot and cold alternately and dizzy (even when sitting still) so had a lazy day. Sat outside on a chair in the garden with a soft wrap round my shoulders (sunny but very chilly out) to cool down. Today if I feel energetic (hah) will sort small lumps of brick, concrete, mortar etc into buckets. put on my note that there about 3 buckets full. One bucket is full, there are several small piles from various sortings and some needs separating out yet.
Alternate activities are continuing with my embroidery wips (depends on the light) or a short trip into town (puzzle book, perfume for mum and there was something yesterday but can't think of it now). Not urgent so it's how much do I want the puzzle book v my chest is pulling at just the thought of it. Would be late afternoon anyway, so we shall see - when those who've been shopping all day have gone home to get ready for the evening revels. Bungalow advantage - no midnight karaoke, no-one supplying drinks and drugs to teens, no annoying motorbike riders, no warring couples, no 5am football chanters punctuating their homeward journey with smashing shop windows. Life in all it's glory, from the side of a carpark on the fringe of the town centre.
Gratitudes - think my ability to look on the bright side is coming back, can just lie here a little longer (though must push myself more upright to ease the coughing), bought hand cream whilst out the other day (using hand sanitiser made all the scrapes and scratches obvious) as my hands are rustling when rubbed together so will give them some tlc.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -

Spend day today. Had my nails done today. Our team has an office day booked for Tuesday when we will all meet each other in person for the first time so thought I best catch up on some of the personal maintenance jobs that have slipped whilst I’ve been working from home.
whilst out I treated myself to a baguette from Greggs for lunch. I had already lost my NSD so thought I would indulge myself.
wanted to pop in the library for some books on the way back but couldn’t find my library card so that will have to wait until next week.
Haven’t done much else today but did sit down and watch the Stephen Hawkins Documentary that I had recorded some time ago. It was really interesting. So much so that I’m thinking of trying to borrow his book from the library. It may well go completely over my head but I won’t know unless I try.
today grateful for last minute appointment at nail salon, lovely baguette for lunch and a relaxing afternoon with the dogs. That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"7 -

Staying on NSD 6 - grocery delivery today to restock our fridge after being away on holiday.Grateful for having some money leftover from our trip to save, for family time, for living in a beautiful country.Sunday 17 October sweeps were:Holiday: £29 (rounded up to £30)Savings goals progress this month:Mortgage OP: £59.68/£120Holiday: £0/£80A mid-month review:What do you want from October? What‘s your goal/aim?
- health - goal is to increase fruit and veg to help my stomach heal after it being assaulted with antibiotics to clear infections
Doing well so far. I’ve not had heartburn for almost two weeks now (it was every other day), been eating fruit and veg daily, and kept portion sizes under control despite being on holiday.- wealth - goal is to underspend to be able to make a £120 overpayment to our mortgage and £80 towards our holiday to see Mickey. Overall underspend goal this month is £200. Any other underspends are a bonus that will go to OP mortgage.
I’m halfway there with OP. Possibly won’t manage both savings goals. When I set the goals, I didn’t factor in caravan break or Halloween festivities. Nonetheless, I’ll still aim for them. See how far I get.- a life well-lived - I wanted to take the October week off work to spend quality time with DS. To do some fun seasonal activities with him, and to go to caravan.
I took the October week off, and I’ve been doing lots of activities with DS, and we did go to the caravan. Two weeks left of the month and there’s still plenty to do. Planning to take DS to some free events in local communities near us. I’ve had to talk myself out of panic booking events - driven by fear of missing out (FOMO): pumpkin picking which my friend has done with her kids and described it as ‘overpriced pumpkins lying in mud that you pick up’, and fairy trails that are usually free but now cost £ because they’ve added some lights. It’s always an inner battle with myself as a Mum wanting DS to have it all. All the fun, all the treats, all the things. I’m sure it’s a common feeling. Anyway, the local community events will have lots for DS to enjoy.

Right on here to confess I am sort of having a meltdown of purpose in slowdown today. Went to see ds1 and got us coffee and muffins, so lost my nsd day. Have been on the couch for the whole rest of the day. Have a wellbeing call tomorrow, so will take the day off work, possibly wednesday as well as have the ds1 funding meeting, and even though it is on the phone, I just can't face doing any of the calls at work. Also have a bunch of calls and paperwork to do for me and for ds1.
Yesterday I went for a lovely sunny walk w lovely neighbour and have made a plan w a friend from same country as me to go for a walk. And go to a festive fair at the end of november. At that time :-)
Have a great start to the week tomorrow.
