NSD # 12 today.
Done a couple of loads of washing today but had to use the TD as it wasn’t drying outside. Not much else done around the house as I logged on to work and spent a few hours working to try to get a bit more up to date.
I did manage to have a review of my budget and was able to increase the standing order into my savings for this month to £2k. It will take my current account right down to the wire but it’s been building up over the last few months. I made a similar transfer last month too so I think my looking after the pennies is paying off.
Received an email from the agent that rents my flat out. They had received a letter from the council chasing payment of an unpaid council tax bill from 2009 !!!!!!. The letter was very strongly worded and threatened legal action if not paid within 7 days. Guess who will be getting a call from a disgruntled resident tomorrow. They find a debt that’s 12 years old and immediately send a threatening letter. How dare they. The debt would be statute barred as it’s over 6 years old. The biggest joke is that the grand total of the debt is £5.42. I would love to see them try to take a debt that old and that small to court. I’m sure it would be laughed out.
Today I’m grateful for quick and easy food, completing a few work tasks that have been bugging me and my weekly catch up telephone call with my DadThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"9 -
NSD #10 that is the good news, the bad news is DS4 tested positive for Covid yesterday lunchtime. In the last 24 hours he has had 3 positive pregnancy tests (2 lines). The rest of us are negative, and the guilt is killing me that he is having meals on a tray left outside his door, and is being baby sat by Nintendo and UTube, while the in-laws are laughing and joking in the kitchen.CEW maybe you could offer them a payment plan of 5p a week over 109 weeks?
or payment in large stamps?? What a ridiculous thing to write to someone about!

Morning Turtles.
I haven't been around much. But am still trying my best. Not much success on NSD's but had one on Friday and yesterday.
There have been a few, very positive conversations at work about my role and my salary.

Right so I am having my duvet day/admin day and I feel so guilty, as this does not exist in a teaching context. But I literally need today and Wednesday to get caught up on what's in my head and ds1 admin things.
Its very grey outside, which seems very appropriate.
I am hoping I can sort out my food/shopping/meal plan for the next two weeks as well. I need to cook for myself, I need to be a better empty nester, and I need more dinner friends. Not as in dinner parties, but as in just eating with other people on week nights every once in a while :-) Seems like a very un-english thing to do, but I can't be eating out all of the time. Unless I can find a cheap supper club of some sort.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Ditty, am doing the same, it does exist in the teaching world, we just never speak of it. We are human, I too need to make a 5 or 6 lengthy phone calls and must be available for call backs. I slept for 4 and half hours and had a shocking weekend. I can't function well unless I am kind to myself and the same is true of you. XXNevertheless she persisted.6

I have just had enough of taking very personal phone calls at work. And it's not like there is a quiet room, where you can just close the door - even for an actual appointment or scheduled phone meeting.
Sounds like your phone mast is about to get over heated, hope all goes well.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hi turtles
Had a very stressful past 7 days. DD2 ended up in A&E in Wales (where she's at uni) and has been diagnosed with a blood clot. Very rare and massively stressful. She was stuck in A&E for nearly 24 hours, on a hard plastic chair, in pain and scared. No one allowed in with her as Wales don't allow it. Then released after scans and seeing Doc but has to inject herself for 30 days and advice to 'take it easy'. No other info or guidance! She managed to have a phone consultation with our GP today which has been helpful. She's doing well to do the injections herself and her boyfriend has been really kind and supportive. Me, DD1 and their dad went down for 2 days last week then i went down over the weekend. MSE-ness has gone out the window with all the petrol, parking, meals and one night's accommodation costs. Actually overdrawn at the moment. Will get paid on Weds and still awaiting c £300 from new PT job #2. Also got a refund on its way from M$S. And booked accomm through ?co so got some cashback (small wins, all helps)
Not caught up on news but hope ditty and buffy get sorted today.
Boss has said i'm ok to work from home which is good as i'm mostly staring out the window. At least i can keep an eye on my washing.
Gratitudes - NHS (not quite broken yet but problems are down to the Govt not the staff); friends who have been phoning me; cats who sit with me on the sofa and are very calming; DD2's boyfriend who is always there for her
