Well I managed a NSD day yesterday. Have £10 till I get paid next week. But that is after I have paid all of my bills, and I am happy about that I have managed to shuffle £40 away as well, so I should be fine.
Ds1 is coming home for a visit on Saturday and I am worried it will unleash all sorts of emotional things. He is struggling mentally w staying at the rehab as is boring and full of old people. But then at mine it's just me - or nobody as I have to work, and I don't think he really gets that. Well it's complicated.
I am going into work today and hoping for a whole day of cover tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Grateful for managing to clean whole house yesterday and actually cooking dinner.

Don't think I posted yesterday. I failed to get through to the chemist or the doctor's but did phone Salford Royal (the neurologist's secretary) and she will send mum's pills out. Mum had an appointment last month which was cancelled and new appointment is December 4th. this item can only be supplied through Salford Royal and mum will run out before December.
Also managed to get through to the waste people. I sent a query off about a week ago to Wigan, but was on bookface and a local contact popped up. messaged him and he agreed to come round today to assess the problem. the concrete lumps will count as 1 cu. m. (weight over 100 kg), he is able to take most of what I want moving and will charge us £90. Smallest size skip would be £100 and he knocked £10 off (might also have needed to pay £35 for skip license).
He took the concrete chunks as he is visiting the site they go to today and will come back tomorrow at about 1 pm (was 2 pm today) for the rest. He has told me not to move anything heavy - he will sort it (I had put a lot of bits in an old broken toybox).
Came in, ate a can of beans (very quick) and have since phoned the chemist (one item from my last order didn't go through) and messaged the doctor's surgery for
1) booking the face to face appointment
2) asking for paperwork for mum's blood test and my diabetes blood and urine tests
3) asked about flu jabs
3b) asked how long we need to wait between flu jab and Covid booster and vice versa.
Unfortunately I have to wait in because they might phone or message me (missed the doctor the other day, can only have been when I went out to do the bins.
Grateful for helpful waste man (he can even take the bits of old filing cabinet), really pleasant pharmacy assistant (nearly home time) and being able to ask several queries for the surgery, beans because they are quick (still very hungry). Head is still throbbing and can't find the notebook I've been jotting all my symptoms in so I don't forget stuff.

NSD 9.
After feeling upbeat yesterday, my mood's flat today. Perhaps tiredness. Perhaps 2 pints of beer. Or perhaps it's just that kind of day.
Working today, but unproductively. Although I don't think I'll have been the only one.
I've done two washings, but I've still a small mountain of dried clothes to put away. I chucked some ingredients into the soup maker and had some soup for lunch. I walked to the nearest ATM and post office to change my PIN and retrieve a parcel. And I'm currently trying to summon the motivation to make two banana breads otherwise the very brown bananas will be going into the bin. I also need to do a wee bit of dinner prep. Haruuumph!
Grateful today for no work pressure, bright Autumn sun, and getting some stuff done albeit slowly and unwillingly.

The receptionist phoned me back. The doctor is on holiday next week, so she's given me the first available appointment 2pm on Monday 1st November. The doctor can give me my flu jab whilst I'm there. If I take mum, the nurse will do her flu jab whilst I'm in with the doctor. She will have the blood test paperwork ready. She's given me a phone number to ring to book mum's booster (it has to be 6 months since the second jab so I'm not due yet, but mum is).
When I put the phone down mum asked if I'd sorted out her order. It had been left in our blue bin on Wednesday but I only found it yesterday morning and it's wrong - 3 items missing, 2 items I omitted from the final order (same price as two of the missing items and we are keeping them). So nothing to be sent back but a complicated email to send. When I told her I had a doctor's appointment she said I could do with proper arch supports. Mental and physical health at rock bottom but mum thinks my priorities should be arch supports and my supposed 'eating disorder' (and hiding food in my room like an alcoholic would hide drink - not true but she's not enough to occupy her so misinterpreting my actions).
I just sat and watched the quizzes (much needed rest and recuperation) and put wedges and smoked haddock for us both in the oven (both found yesterday when I was doing freezer drawer stock check). I knew there should be wedges somewhere, the haddock was a pleasant surprise (my freezer is mainly the back up one, if I order two of something, the spare goes in there). The fridge is much more efficient than mum's so I tend to keep cheese and bacon in there (as well as a fully stocked, full size salad drawer) and get them out when mum has eaten the ones in her fridge.
Later I made a great effort and walked to Morries. Using the walker and sitting down frequently, snails overtaking me). A couple of urgent things (cash from mum's account to cover the rest of my present money, my puzzle book) a couple of running out things (2 bottles of pop for me but going to drink as much water as I can - put a 10 l box of still on the last order, will just attach the tap and keep it in the shed, more sandwich fillings - that's working well as quick and easy meals with lots of added veg) a couple of treats and some large bread buns ys'd to 25 p (there is bacon in the fridge with my name on it). Even slower trudge back (two people did stop to ask if I was alright, I thanked them but said I was okay).
Left leg increasingly painful and don't remember walking down mum's street - was just clinging onto the walker, walking looking down at the floor and was surprised to see I was nearly there. It rained on me and my glasses kept steaming up. I had to take them off to check if any cars were coming. I would like an x-ray to see if it the leg (hip, knee, ankle) is arthritis and how far it has progressed, or if it's just an injury or from doing 'too much' (ie pathetically small amount) as I suspect the advice on how I should proceed will differ. Going to strap the ankle up today. The support bandage I found last time was useless but when I was looking for my masks (mum keeps putting them in one of her drawers) I found my good support bandage as well). need to round up and check supplies of first aid and other remedies, again. Also tell mum the 'go to Icyland and do a huge shop' plan is a complete non-starter. They only have deep trolleys (one 'disabled trolley but I always leave that for 'real' disabled person). I struggle putting things into a deep trolley, getting them back out is even harder and my back hurts so much I walk away like Quasimodo.
Grateful for efficient systems and helpful receptionists, my puzzle book (and helpful check out people - I must have looked in a bad way because when I said I could pack by myself, she asked me if I was sure), some nice things to eat (I also have the pasta bake mix I made up using odds and ends of veg) so no need for an order before mid week (stretching them to 10 days again), the odd NSD, the prospect of getting rid of a load of junk (it has been extremely well used, with a few years of garden use tagged on at the end), making (slow) progress with the stock check, the sun is shining, the multivitamin is making a difference (tiny bubbles of happiness)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
