MWT or others does this also mean the first reading back on 29th Sept that Octopus asked for is still in limbo.....I cant see this on either Avro old site or new account Octopus. I am reluctant to put a new reading on Octopus when they dont show end Sept anywhere.1

I'm aware that the gas and electric are still being used so there will come a point in the future when it will have to be paid for. I was quite a bit in credit and I've put aside the direct debit money so when I do finally get asked to submit readings and get a bill I can hopefully cover it.

I looked on my Octopus account and saw that they are my energy supplier from today, 2nd November, so have submitted readings today so they have an accurate start reading and can pass that to Avro as an accurate final reading. Now waiting to see if my DD will be taken as usual on the 10th.

Consumerist said:Octopus have been your supplier since 26 September irrespective of what your Octopus account currently tells you. The opening readings will come from Avro's administrators in due course. If you didn't submit readings to Avro or Octopus on or around that date then they may be estimated for your final bill from Avro.Avro might have gone bust of 25th Sept but that's not when Octopus was appointed SoLR (I think - it was a few days later). They might be the deemed supplier with effect from 26th Sept but that's not what they say on my account - for me they have told me that Nov 4th is when they take over supplying me, not Sept 26th.Another 'rule' (convention?) regarding Switching says that the tarriff doesn't change until the Switch completes. Normally I would have expected the previous supplier to bill up to the Switch Date and for the new supplier to bill on and after the Switch Date. And since everything in the Avro-Octupus shouts 'this is a Switch', I would expect this to be a Switch even if it was a forced Switch.I haven't seen anywhere what period Avro's Final Bill will cover; nor what tariff will apply after going bust up to the Switch Date. We were advised to submit a Final Reading to Avro on 26th Sept and Octupus asked me to submit a Start Reading to Octupus in time for Nov 4th. Who is going to use what reading and what tariff(s) are going to apply?I have no idea whether my DD has been or will be transferred across from Avro to Octopus - my 26th Oct DD was taken and went to Avro (the payment is reflected in my Avro account, not my Octupus account). I hope at least things will become clearer on 4th Nov. Until it's clear to me, I'll do nothing more.

Latest update from Octopus ....
--------------------------------------------------
We've now completed setting up accounts for most Avro customers (560,000 out of 580,000) using their meter info and personal data. The final batch of data we're still waiting for from the administrator is financial info - which will include your final Avro bill and remaining account balance.
We hope to have this financial data as soon as possible, but cannot control this process so it may take a few weeks more. Please don't worry, any credit you have once your final Avro bill has been produced will be protected and transferred to your Octopus energy account. We do keep an eye on our customers’ usage and suggest payment adjustments if we think you DD isn’t set right. Read more about this here.
We’ve shared rates with all customers now - if you’re worried your DD won’t cover what you’re using, you can change your Direct Debit amount in your online account.

We're all just waiting for the re-start gun from Avro's administrators when they issue final bills. We might get them as a Christmas present!

I don't think the starting gun was ever fired by the Avro administrators. They've basically had a full month twiddling their thumbs with their feet up staring out of the window.Somebody at Avro has been tinkering with the main Avro website as you can no longer see a list of your previous statements on there. Only your latest statement is now visible so somebody may be about to press the magic button. They've also turned off the meter reading reminder emails.Access to the old Avro website https://assets.avroenergy.co.uk/Default.aspx has been fixed and for anybody who needs to view or download their old statements they can be viewed/saved from there.
