Shouldn't need to, "Flexible Octopus October 2021 v2" appears to be about £10 below the cap which is what they have said from the start would be the price-point for the tariff they moved Avro customers onto.KeepOnRollingAlong said:Yesterday I had to put in new rates because their flexible tariff had gone up. I presume it will go up again tonight.

This tariff is designed to sit just below the October cap so it has already been adjust to take account of the rise.KeepOnRollingAlong said:

Same here. I thought it was going to hurt but not that much.lloydyyy said:
I did the same. My annual cost doubled.half_empty said:Just fed some fixed rate numbers in and could see 900 quid increase based on last 12 months use.
 Jeepers.
 Oh well.
On a side note, annoying TV show last night following the rise and they went to see a family that, on the face of it, are not really going to worry over it. They should have focused on the people this is going to hit hard.3

I decided to submit my readings today. I have an old Octopus account (they were an SOLR for a previous supplier of mine went under) and I found that it still allowed me to log in. I wondered about this so I decided to go through the 'set up an account' route, only to find it made me change the password for my old account. Fair enough, so I entered todays gas and electricity readings in that account. I presume Octopus will log those readings against todays date. I also set up a DD, having cancelled the Avro one on the day they went bust.
I hope that this all works out.0

Good morningI am a former Avro customer being moved to Flexible Octopus October 2021 v2.Just one question about this variable tariff - can Octopus increase the cost per kwh and standing charge beyond today's new price cap before April next year? I'm not sure whether this is considered a standard variable tariff.Thanks0

I went to login to Octopus and had to do a password reset after trying to use my Avro details but got the same haven't set up a DD message, I ain't bothered as all the info says future DD's will be sent to Octopus and my next DD isn't due out until the 10th.Beano456 said:I thought you only had to set up new DD details with Octopus if you cancelled the Avro DD. We haven't cancelled the DD but logging into Octopus it says: "It looks like you don't have an active Direct Debit - you can set one up here".Someone please tell me what money is0

If you think you are an Avro customer, and haven't heard from us by the end of this week, please email us on avro@octopus.energy and we will investigate.I wonder if Friday is considered the end of the week for this purpose. 0

Had an email from Martin Lewis Cheap Energy Club which I do use saying if you want to know approx what you will be paying to log in and change supplier to Octopus and show Octopus Flexible. We will be paying approx £63 pm extra. Which equates to more than a 50% monthly increase.
We are lucky we do get the winter fuel allowance so this takes the monthly outgoing from £158 to £148.0
