Have you checked both these sites https://www.avroenergy.co.uk/ and https://assets.avroenergy.co.uk/Default.aspx for your Avro meter readings and final bill? The Avro administrators are handling the Avro final bills.
Have you had any emails from Octopus notifying you that they had taken over from Avro?
Have you got an account with Octopus https://octopus.energy/ and can you login? Octopus can't create a statement/final bill for you until they receive the Avro closing meter readings from the Avro administrators.
Sainsburys Energy (the gaining supplier) are responsible for handling all aspects of the transfer from Octopus.

I’ve not received a final bill from Avro, or a bill from Octopus or Sainsburys Energy.

I did submit final meter readings with Avro a while ago (unfortunately I did not keep a record of the meter readings submitted).

I’m not sure who to chase. Should I continue to wait to hear? Thank you
As part of the normal switching process, you should have given a meter reading to Sainsbury's on, or close to, the day they took responsibility for your supply, did that happen?

No, I haven’t done that. I thought it might have complicated everything.

Well after receiving Avros Final Bill I had credit in the Octopus account but despite placing several meter readings in for Octopus, the last being on 29th Nov, when I received an email from them asking me to do so nothing had changed on the account.  Today put another meter reading in and as soon as I clicked "submit" I suddenly as if magic saw a rundown of charges under balance history.

Pending payment A payment of £100.00 hasn't yet been applied
You have -£57.02 in your Octopus Energy account.
    Gas1 OCT 2021 - 4 DEC 2021🔥1569.58 MJWe charged your account £79.94
    Electricity1 OCT 2021 - 4 DEC 2021⚡462.63 kWhWe charged your account £114.48
    Gas26 SEP 2021 - 30 SEP 2021🔥66.43 MJWe charged your account £3.39
    Electricity26 SEP 2021 - 30 SEP 2021⚡31.37 kWhWe charged your account £7.37
SOLR balance transfer We credited your account £148.16

Now they have me in debit but Decembers D/D taken in 2nd of this month hasn't been applied as yet.  No bills as yet either bar Avros' last one, just the breakdown in balance history which makes it difficult to break it all down so hope they add those with the DD added soon..

Quite frightening when you look back at previous tariffs over the last few years and especially as I only have the heating on now either one or two hours a day max and rely on thermals and coats!!  Last December I used the same Gas in "one month" than I have in two this year and I was only charged £43 whereas around 50 units has cost £83 so that's double and it will go up again in April!  Likewise with Electricity.

Anyone get the Octopus Winter Workout email and the "chance to cut your gas bill and your carbon footprint — plus win your share of our £1 million prize pool."  Mmmm! Rubbing it in a tad!!

NB - Based on Gas Meter being an Imperial Meter...

Don't forget you've got an Imperial gas meter so 50 units is around 142 cubic metres and 1600kWh. People with metric meters reading this shouldn't start worrying about their own billls in those terms

I should think that you should get a bill on Monday or Tuesday. When I did my reading the bill was generated practically straight away. They say if any payments are pending it take a few days to generate a bill. They do email you the bill.
My dd goes out 21st month. My readings from 23rd month which I will take and then wait for pending dd to go through then enter my readings. There is a drop down box where you enter the readings to put in the correct reading date.
Based on your figures posted and if there are no other payments to be credited you should be £42.98 in credit if you haven’t already worked it out.
  • I think I may have posted this before but can't find that post, so here goes again........ I was credit with Avro by £100. I'm perfectly capable of calculating my bills from my meter readings and I'd like to pay whatever I calculate as outstanding on a month by month basis. So I don't want to start a direct debit - which Octopus could increase to suit themselves and create yet another credit balance. Can I make a bank transfer using my name and account number every month to avoid a large bill when Octopus have finally sorted themselves out. If there are differences when I finally get a bill from them, I'll pay any outstanding amount. But I want to stay in charge of my payments - so don't want a direct debit.............and obviously don't to pay anything which gets lost in their system. Ideas and thoughts please?

That means Octopus/Sainsbury's will estimate their closing/opening reading  as you didn't provide a reading.

Otherwise, I think both firms generally only bill you when they receive a meter reading.

Octopus let you adjust your own DD from month to month. If you think you're building up credit you can reduce your DD. I've adjusted mine down twice from where it started out; from £45 to £40 to £30. If £30 turns out to be too low (and we're going in to the coldest part of the winter) I'll bump it up again.
