Can anyone tell me what the percentage increase in charges is for a dual fuel DD customer who has been swtched from say Avro Simple and Super 12M to Octopus. Sorry if this is dealt with somewhere in the thread's 97 pages.
In my case it went from £131 to £170 per month a 29.77% increase. I was previously on Avro SImple & Fixed 12M. With you being on a different tariff your % increase may be slightly different.
You need to be aware that Octopus don't recalculate or change the amount for you. You need to make the change to your Direct Debit yourself via your Octopus Dashboard.

Thanks for that. I have already upped my DD as the old avro figure was woefully short to meet the big increase in charges following the switch to octopus. The debt figure was starting to look alarming.

Check your Avro exit bills vs credit applied to Octopus carefully.  With mine they seem to have "lost" over £70 of credit that was in my avro cccount when it closed.   Have asked for an escalation to investigate and await the outcome.
  • Anybody else unable to access the "Your bills & statements" link from the old version of the Dashboard - the page is just blank for me.
If I try and access the new version of the Dashboard even the main page is completely blank.
  • Octopus do seem to take a while to actually credit your DD to your account.

Mine taken yesterday (1st) and still not applied to the account as I type!

Not a complaint, cos i don't really care when they apply it tbh. Just an observation.

If you check the "View my balance history" link from your Dashboard it will probably be showing in there as pending. It can take up to 5 days for it to move to your balance.

I know things must be mad over at Octopus but it's ridiculous that I have to go to the old web page to see what's happening in my account. Hopefully this will be remedied ?
The only mad thing is that Octopus have set the new version of the Dashboard (which is an unfinished project) as the default option.
Not many customers will realise the old version even exists.

I use both versions of their board, the old and the new, with my energy usage on the old board it's in 30 minute segments and the new board just shows the daily usage.
Someone please tell me what money is

Try going into your browser history and deleting all the history for the octopus website visits, then do a search for Octopus energy and click on the site this might get a fully working site up with all the options for both the new and old versions of the site.

Thanks that did the trick. Very odd not seen that before!

I initially disputed the credit that was moved over to Octopus. I had a print-out from my avro account that showed a £130 credit when it collapsed but the Octopus transfer showed this had shrunk to £72. However, I finally managed to access the statements on the old avro account which showed the "missing" cash had gone to meet energy costs for the bill between August and September. Mystery solved and I called off the appeal. The much bigger bills with octopus soon swallowed up the credit.

Just had my final bill from avro and looks correct, final gas and electric are estimates but accurate.

Credit balance of approximately £200 already transferred onto octopus site (as well as final avro bill) and initial direct debit balance on the 19th of November (I cancelled avro dd) so total credit approx £300, done calculations of my energy bill from 26th September through to end of November and most the credit of approximately £265 will already be used up, gas unit price up 50%, electricity 25%, SC around 25%, so explains the clean up of credit.

glad all over but seems unfair bulb uses keep existing prices whilst all other users of bankrupt firms have seen large hikes
