I will use no more than 1650 kWh in the 12 months since octopus took over a drop of at least 600 kWh per year.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
MWT said:FWIW, as a long term Octopus customer my gas conversion calculations on the bill still seem to be correct, I suspect these small differences have something to do with time period for the bill and hence the calorific value not matching the time period that you have been 'on supply' with Octopus.I certainly agree this is something that shouldn't happen, but if they don't come back with an answer, submit a new gas meter reading in a week or so and see if the calculation for the bill that produces is more accurate...Someone please tell me what money is0

Can anyone tell me what the percentage increase in charges is for a dual fuel DD customer who has been swtched from say Avro Simple and Super 12M to Octopus. Sorry if this is dealt with somewhere in the thread's 97 pages.

Sorry if this is dealt with somewhere in the thread's 97 pages. In my case it went from £131 to £170 per month a 29.77% increase. I was previously on Avro SImple & Fixed 12M. With you being on a different tariff your % increase may be slightly different. You need to be aware that Octopus don't recalculate or change the amount for you. You need to make the change to your Direct Debit yourself via your Octopus Dashboard.

Sorry if this is dealt with somewhere in the thread's 97 pages. It depends on your region and usage. There isn't a percentage you can apply to the change as both the daily standing charge and rate per kWh have increased by different percentages and the financial impact of that depends upon your actual usage. You have to work it out for your actual annual usage and the rates applicable to your region. Bit of maths required, but it isn't that complicated so long as you know your usage - don't rely on Avro's estimates of annual usage on their statements as they were always wrong (especially for gas). Use some actual readings as close to a year apart as you can get or total up the actual kWh you were billled for on your statements, so long as estimated readings were not used.

I went into new Octopus account just before. It showed my credit balance as I had cancelled my DD with avro before the September DD was taken out . I have made one off payments to cover what I would have paid avro.
No bill, but I clicked on the go to old format (for now) and hey presto my avro final bill was there. I only had £50 credit and my final bill was £50.48. So the credit balance covered it. The bill was correct. In the old format page it showed my credit with Octopus to be 52p less than the new site page.
I know things must be mad over at Octopus but it's ridiculous that I have to go to the old web page to see what's happening in my account. Hopefully this will be remedied ?0 -

Hopefully this will be remedied ?The only mad thing is that Octopus have set the new version of the Dashboard (which is an unfinished project) as the default option. Not many customers will realise the old version even exists.

Some new information about direct debits, ideally this information should have come a lot sooner, since some people seem to have been setting up two direct debits for some time.
