Avro Energy

Well, I don't quite see it like that, wouldn't I be buying in advance and stockpiling. Avro have had my money for a considerable amount of time and I am on a fixed term to buy a set amount of energy over that term ... it was calculated, all I am saying is keep the money and I'll have the energy!

No but you would be lying for financial gain, i.e. fraud.Freepost said:Well, I don't quite see it like that, wouldn't I be buying in advance and stockpiling.1 -
Anyone else notice that you can't print your statements on the Avro site? Paperless billing is all well and good but some people claim some amount of their electric through their employer for working from home. Surely Avro have to keep the billing up and running? Avro: {

Try this link - some say only works for long term customer - been then since 2018 - it worked for me, been able to d/load all statements

Edit : there are no issues or delays using this site version (if you can) - with the normal site I do get the "come back in 15 min statement0 -
It is a matter of keeping on trying, especially very late or very early when fewer people are on the Avro web site. There are over half a million people in this situation! After getting my Octopus e-mail yesterday I managed to get onto their web site around 10pm to upload meter readings for that day, being changeover (I had previously entered them for the day they went bust); they told me I was in a queue, and should be able to access it in 15 minutes, but on refreshing I was able to get at the meter readings page and by keeping on refreshing the page I got my readings entered.As far as the statements are concerned, when you succeed in accessing the page which lists them, I recommend saving the PDF files to your computer; that way you have them stored, rather than just a printout.0

In any switching situation, readings are verified by a third party which sits between the old and new supplier, and if they don't look right they won't be accepted. What will usually happen is that different figures will be substituted, which might actually be to your disadvantage as they might be lower than the correct figure. I suppose that in extreme circumstances they might send a meter reader out.Freepost said:Well, I don't quite see it like that, wouldn't I be buying in advance and stockpiling. Or they might ask for a photograph of the meters; and if they still showed less than one had reported, one would have to do some very careful Photoshopping. I think it's best to accept the situation and tell the truth, myself.

bob_a_builder thanks for trying but as a customer of 2 months, I cannot login using the old link you sent. Also, I can get to the front screen indicating there are statements there, however when I click on a statement, I get the message I posted above. Been trying for 2 days.

Octopus are able to utilise some SMETS 1 meters, I switched to their Go tariff earlier in the year and was surprised that they did not have to swap out my old Scottish Power SMETS 1 meter to be able to take 1/2 hour readings.wild666 said:
I have a SMETS 1 meter and was really hoping I the SoLR wouldn't be BG which I left in Jan 2018. It's going to be Octopus but I checked and the rates I will pay on their cheapest tariff would be £17 per month more than the £48 I was paying Avro. Bulb seem to be cheaper, I left them in Jan for Avro.LippyDoodle said:
Yes take a meter reading today. It will help determine how much you have already used with Avro. Once settled with Octopus you can then ask them about a smart meter and then if one can be fitted you won't ever need to do a meter reading again!xlnc99 said:should we take the meter readings daily. I ask because its a hassle for me to get the readings for one of them0 -
If your going to give Octopus a higher reading, best to to accidently go slighty higher. I presume they'll get all your previous readings off Avro.
