    Thanks guys

Funnily enough just got an email from OCT. They have stated dont worry if you cancelled your DD, they will give us details over the next few days of tarriff etc

I think everyone should now start looking for tarrifs and look at the cheapest option. Whether it be with OCT or another provider. Why wait??? You can see what OCT offer on their site - they wont offer anyone something different.

I will get back to you with my results

    Ok guys just compared

OCT is defo very expensive - DO NOT STAY WITH THEM.

I have already found a cheaper alternative, infact they all. It looks like i have to go for separate gas and electricity suppliers for a fixed term.

Start looking elsewhere now, OCT are very expensive and there are cheaper places out there

Only concern is - will they go bust too?

The email from Octopus today claims this:

We will be in touch with your rates and charges soon, but they will be cheaper than anything available from any other large supplier today — and cheaper than the fixed prices we’re currently offering new customers on our own website.

    Wait and see then.

Do you believe this is true or just a sales pitch.

I had a look and found OCT very expensive. NEON REEF are even cheaper then AVRO - my previous deal which was the cheapest i found at the time anywhere and its fixed

Looked at my rate from Octopus and it’s much higher than the 2 yr fix v 18 with Sainsbury’s that I signed up for 2 days before they went bust. It appears to be going through ok.

how did you find out the rate of OCT? Did they already confirm your new tariff
  • I understand separate suppliers could be the only way to garner a decent price now and NEON REEF is cheaper than most for electric but who to use for gas?
