The list of what you do get cashback on will be shorter.orange-juice said:Do we have a rough list of what's excluded from cashback yet? E.g. council tax bills, investments? I think there's one in the FAQs but it's a bit 'general' imo?
As I have described elsewhere, you can use the Curve card to shift purchases from Chase to a cashback credit card if desired.1 -
That would indeed be poor from her as it was actually advertised on their social.Se1Lad said:
Will certainly come in handy - it looks like the maximum foreign currency monthly withdrawal per month is £700 - according to the person I spoke to on their online chat. I also asked the question re: fees when using a USA Chase ATM and she didn’t know the answer which was a bit poor!sebtomato said:
No, and I think that's where Chase can be more competitive than all other "new" banks.Se1Lad said:Do chase ATMs in America charge a fee if you use a UK Chase debit card in them?
I am referring to a fee for using the ATM and not the currency conversion fee, which I already know is 0%.
Someone posted a confirmation before me about no ATM fees, but I also posted the actual app screenshots, atm receipts from LA and also MasterCard website exchange rates to show perfect exchange rate with no additional fees.. Cash in USA is still needed, mostly for tips but also eat out at smaller, traditional establishment.
as stated several times, this makes Chase UK the very best options to travel to the USA, especially now with cashback (I got cashback on hotels, most dining out, Lyfts rides and general shopping). The only thing that would get close to it, is A Santander debit card, but that would be limited to few major city on the East Coast.1 -
If only there was a way to put millions of 0.01 transactions through without having your account closed ;-)Deleted_User said:
I've also put £75.01 petrol in the car just to see the 0.99p go into the 5% account. Silly I know but every little helps.

Council tax is a no (government services). Would presume investments would come under account and prepaid card funding - they are unlikely to pay cashback on money deposited into a trading account as it could be for many thousands of pounds and/or immediately withdrawn and recycled.orange-juice said:Do we have a rough list of what's excluded from cashback yet? Basically, any large purchases are excluded from cashback:
Investments
Council tax
University fees
Car purchase and maintenance
Etc.
So it's about grocery shopping, purchases on Amazon, purchases from shops, gym memberships etc.2 -
It's not as simple as the amount of the purchase. I got cashback on purchases of several thousand pounds - which are large purchases for me.sebtomato said:Basically, any large purchases are excluded from cashback:

I have heard of Curve but haven't looked into it further. How does it work for your 3rd point, where you choose Chase as your spending card and then use the 'go back in time' to switch the payment onto a CC. Does the money get refunded to your Chase current account straightaway?

Hi guys. Just a quick one with chase bank.I want to open an account to benefit the 1.5% savings. Do they do a hard search etc? I’m applying for a mortgage in the next few months and can’t have a hard search jeopardise this. Thank you.0

@Stecroydon no hard search from Chase.1

Everyone has been saying it's not a hard search, I don't remember them asking permission to take one when I opened mine the other day & they aren't offering credit.Stecroydon said:Hi guys.
