Do chase ATMs in America charge a fee if you use a UK Chase debit card in them?
I am referring to a fee for using the ATM and not the currency conversion fee, which I already know is 0%.0 -
No, someone has recently tried this out and posted the results here.Se1Lad said:Do chase ATMs in America charge a fee if you use a UK Chase debit card in them?

No, and I think that's where Chase can be more competitive than all other "new" banks.Se1Lad said:Do chase ATMs in America charge a fee if you use a UK Chase debit card in them?

Will certainly come in handy - it looks like the maximum foreign currency monthly withdrawal per month is £700 - according to the person I spoke to on their online chat. I also asked the question re: fees when using a USA Chase ATM and she didn’t know the answer which was a bit poor!sebtomato said:

What are the transactions that can only be carried out in cash cash when travelling to/in the US (or anywhere else, for that matter)? Why would you need more than £700 in cash a month for such transactions?Se1Lad said:

I can think of 2 examples - when travelling for work in Central America, a lot of smaller restaurants would insist on taking cards away to swipe them (or in some cases only take cash). My card was cloned more than once so it was just easier to pay cash. Also the work canteens in some offices were often cash only (if you didn’t have a local employee card you could pre load) So you could easily get through £700 in a 2 week trip?Daliah said:

Another example is the Casino on some cruise ships. Whilst I don’t gamble the friend I travel with does. The only way you could use the casino was to either use cash in USD, or use your debit card - I don’t know why, but they insisted on putting the transaction through in GBP at an unfavourable exchange rate - so having cash in advance is the best option.0 -
I've just opened a Chase UK current account and was so impressed with their application process.
Within 10 minutes of applying, I had a text saying they had finished their checks and to go to the app. The account was opened and the card is now in my Apple Wallet ready to use.
Saver account also opened in under a minute.
Looking forward to trying it out. Best application process for me so far.

Agree with previous poster, excellent service, very impressed. I've put a tiny amount inn the current account, then the rest in a savings account. Then when about to spend, just switch some over. I've also put £75.01 petrol in the car just to see the 0.99p go into the 5% account. Silly I know but every little helps.3

I also got this - the way to sort it is to go to settings > apps then clear the cache and data for the chase app and log in againBirdman2015 said:Since applying last night I was getting the “sorry for the wait” message on the app while they check things. Received a text saying “ we’ve run our ID checks, please head to the app”. Still getting the same sorry for the wait message on the app.
I know they re incredibly busy but wondering why send out a text when nothing seems to be updated.0 -
Do we have a rough list of what's excluded from cashback yet? E.g. council tax bills, investments? I think there's one in the FAQs but it's a bit 'general' imo?0
