I’ve had the same. It was named as JPMC. At first I thought it was fraud but then I figured out it was my Chase account. No doubt it will lower my score for having opened another new account.
Given that no lender will use the scores assigned by the credit reference agencies, you don’t need to worry.

Thanks all,  earlier last week I'd had some fraudulent attempts to use my email to access other online accounts so was a little concerned these things were related. Very reassured that others have had the same!
  • Hi I was just wondering does anyone know with the 1% cash back. Do you get this on passport renewals? Obviously this falls under the government but I don't know if it's excluded or not I'm chase just gave me a referral to what was on the list which was kind of vague. So if anyone could concur it would be appreciated

Hi guys I just thought I'd ask this question. I've had chase card for a while now and I believe my cash backs about to end soon. But I can qualify for further cash back if I increase the money paid into the account to the summer 1500.
This isn't the issue here. But if I continue to go down this rubber hole I wonder can anyone tell me. Will I qualify for one percent cashback on a purchase of a renew of a passport? Is currently that is the only thing I'm looking to purchase in the next three months
I've spoken to chase and they've just sent me a link saying these are the exclusions and one of them was government or something but it didn't mention password so it's left me in a limbo that the operator doesn't know from chase and the terminology is rather loose to say the least.

I can see from my statements that I paid for a passport renewal in April 23 with Chase debit but can only see cashback transactions for the last 12 months. Are earlier c/back details available?

    EDIT : Don't sweat it too much, it's 82p.

I can't say for definite but I would be fairly sure it is excluded.  I recently renewed a passport and paid with Trading 212 debit card which has near identical cashback exclusion list as Chase and no cashback was received.

Curve card is useful for this sort of thing as you can "go back in time" three times per 30 days so I moved the transaction to Santander Edge credit card which did pay cashback.
  • As mentioned on Reddit a few weeks ago, the Chase bank card is being updated in digital wallets to incorporate the word Debit. Mine was updated overnight on all my Apple devices:

  • With all due respect, possibly the week's dullest news. :)

I guess the supposition is that this change means that the Chase credit card is arriving Real Soon Now.

Which is also not very exciting.

    Indeed…. 🙂
  • With that info I can now look forward to the weekend :)
